This Year's Model Updates:

Two new trim levels, the R320 CDI and the R63 AMG, are available this year. The R320 CDI has a diesel-fueled engine for enhanced fuel economy, while the R63 AMG is modified for high performance and comes equipped with a 503-horsepower V8.

Pros:
  • Wide range of engine choices, seating for six, functions much like a luxury minivan but without the associated mommy-mobile stigma.
Cons:
  • Long and heavy rear doors, gasoline V6 is short on low-end torque, high price for glorified minivan functionality.

  • fantastic, safe, comfortable people hauler. Reliability issues - 2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class

I love this car. We took it on a 4000 mile family rip a month after buying it. It is the most comfortable people hauler I have ever driven or ridden in. For people hauling it can not be topped. It gets fair mileage. I had the Yakima swingman 4 bike rack on it with 4 large bikes. We still averaged 25 mpg at 70 to 75 mph. As I said this thing hauls people, but it has little room for luggage. You will either need a cargo hauler, or the carry all for a receiver. We crammed our stuff in duffle bags for our 7 day trip.

Even at first glance, the R350 is a standard breaking automobile! It may seem a little confused as it would appear to be a hybrid of a E Class wagon, an SUV and an upscale van all in one! Trust me when I say, it is anything but confused! It is a trend setter! I very much enjoy the fact that it is not too big, as an SUV, it is not small like a car and not conforming like a van! The ride is amazing as anyone would hope from a Mercedes Benz and the comfort level for all passengers is 5 star! I have owned numerous Mercedes vehicles and this is by far my favorite, outside of an S Class! I am very disappointed to see that they are no longer making this model! I purchased this certified pre-owned from the dealership last year (2016) and have placed many miles on it and can say have had VERY little issues! If you can do simple repairs and upkeep and stay mostly away from a dealership garage, then you can enjoy many happy returns with this Mercedes Benz! I will say the only thing that I dislike about the model is the placement of the turn signal and cruise control arms. The turn signal is completely hidden behind the steering wheel and the the cruise control arm is up high next to your left drivers hand. This makes one (even after extended ownership) want to use the cruise control in place of the actual turn signal. The only major repair I have had thus far has been a repair to a cracked rim after hitting a pot hole and that repair was less than $200. I am also having issues with the rear entertainment center acknowledging DVDs. The seats are in perfect condition and of the HIGHEST quality grade leather! We are in love with the panoramic glass rooftop as well as the very large and accommodating rear doors! This has been a very fortunate purchase with NO regrets!

  • Not bad - could be better - 2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class

I have 4 small children and I needed a car that would seat all of us. I must admit I wasnt thrilled with the looks of the car and considered it only because it would hold everyone in relative comfort and because the 2008s were on the way and the dealerships had boatloads to get rid of in late July. Having come from a Volvo V70R, I had to have the V8 and not the V6. While the R500 is a great choice for someone with 4 kids, it is nowhere near as responsive or fun to drive as the Volvo. To be fair, the V70R is the Sport version and the R500 has never pretended to be remotely sporty - unless you want to lay down 80 large for the AMG version. After all, its a glorified minivan/station wagon.

  • Smooth Ride - 2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class

Tough trading in our CLK320...but the R350 did not disappoint us. The smoothness of this mercedes sold us on a test drive. Interior is beautiful to look at and the seats are total comfort. The cabin is spacious and the third row really does fit adults comfortably including getting in and out. The exterior is unique, with that mercedes flare, yet understated overall.

  • Great car with some nagging issues - 2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class

Have been driving the R350 for a year now. Consistently getting 23-24 mpg with my daily commute at 70-75 mph. Great highway cruiser with good comfort (AC/Interior). Fold down seats work quite well. Car has had a crown steer pulling problem since new which they tell me to live with. MB nickel and dimes you on the options as well. Sliding rear doors and backup camera would be a big improvement as well as standard park distance (it is big and difficult to park).Decent value with $5000 incentive and Employee discount. Overpriced as compared to others in this segment. Great looking car with decent fit and finish.

  • Just purchased car 4 month ago and PROBLEMS already!!! HELP - 2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class
    By -

Im a 1st Mercedes buyer that had my eyes on the r350 since I saw it for the first time 2 yrs ago. I told myself that car will be my next purchase and so i decided to get rid of my 2000 Lexus GS300 that I had for 10 yrs and LOVED and buy the R350. Excited and pleased with my new purchase until about 2 weeks ago. My SRS indicator lit up( and is still on just out of no where), my ac System continue to stay on and blow air after car is off and key out, sometimes dont even turn the ac on and fan still runs?? And now my battery dies everyday. Had to just start it for the last 4 days...Has any one every had any of these problems, please reply back.

Its an excellent car with great performance during extreme weather conditions. This car cuts through snow very nicely.

  • Great car, but a ton of money - 2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class

The interior is superb, roomy, and comfortable. Except for a driveline noise that seems to be appearing, the interior is quiet and the ride is smooth. You can tell that the engine is a little small for this 5000lb beast, but the 7-speed makes do with what its got to make it manageable. Fuel mileage is around 17.5 city and 22 highway. Not bad for a 7 passenger vehicle! The maintenance cost is high, so beware. An oil change (just oil, nothing else!) is $280. You can do the maintenance yourself, but I am expecting a challenge from MB on lease turn in time.

  • Great Family Vehicle - 2007 Mercedes-Benz R-Class

We previously owned a mini-van and were looking at both station wagons and mini-vans when we found the R350. It had the smoothest ride of any car I have ever driven, and was not much more expensive than a Honda Odyssey, our second choice. We immediately took it on a 2,000 mile trip from Southern California to Oregon for a week of camping. We were impressed with how much gear we could fit in the back while also carrying two adults and two children. Everyone at the campground was coming by to check out the car because of its impressive exterior styling.
