  • Once in a Benz, always in a Benz - 2006 Mercedes-Benz R-Class

My first luxo-liner. Executive jet indeed it is. This is billiard table smooth on the highway. Nothing like it around town. Must haves are the panorama roof, and navigation and PDC (Parktronic). I can live without 4matic and heated seats. Less complexity and weight. People say "what is it?" And it gets the same mileage as my 06 Honda CRV did. Get one today!! Youll never go back to the "others."

This is my MB and I am just loving every bit of it. This machine is comfortable and have ample of room inside to fit 6 Adults to sit comfortably. The gas mileage is very good considering the fact that it is V8. The most comfortable part of this vehicle is that it was very minimal engine noise and the drive (specially in the freeway)is very smooth and comfortable.

  • Absolutely Love It - 2006 Mercedes-Benz R-Class

After doing a great deal of research, and test driving equivalent vehicles we decided to purchase our R500. My family has quickly fallen in love with this vehicle. The leg room in the second row is unmatched by any other vehicle. I traded in a sportier Jag for the roomier family friendly vehicle. I have not regretted it for a minute, the R500 is luxurious without being pretentious. Highly recommend it. We purchased the extended warranty to just to be safe but we have not had the smallest of issues.

  • R350 is a great car. - 2006 Mercedes-Benz R-Class

This is our first MB and we are very happy with it. Excellent ride quality, beautiful interior, smooth drivetrain, and extremely comfortable seats. I had difficulty getting my wife interested in a wagon much less a MB. But, after taking her to the dealership she quickly reconized that this is a great family vehicle. The 6 cylinder is adequate and fun to drive but not fast.

Have had the car for a little over a month, cant speak highly enough about it. The build quality is great, it drives great (feels like a much smaller car). The driving position is "commanding" enough. The panaromic sunroof makes the third seat feel unrestricted. Great job MB

  • Big Mistake! Least Reliable Car Ive ever owned! - 2006 Mercedes-Benz R-Class

Just bought this car in March 13. The car is a 2006 with 68K miles. During the test drive everything was running smooth and we fell in love with the car, (more the interior than the exterior) The car almost looks like a Minivan but it grows on you. After 3 months of driving this used car the Transmission pooped out on us. It cost $1,500 to fix and we did not take it to the dealer (this was the cheaper mechanic option) Now the car randomly drops the left side suspension. Apparently the air shocks deflate overnight or while parked for a long time and it tilts to one side. Cant wait to find out how much new air shocks will cost but Im assuming it will not be cheap. Gas guzzler too!

  • Perfect for Moms! - 2006 Mercedes-Benz R-Class

I love this vehicle! I am a Mom with two children under the ages of three and wanted a luxury, sporty vehicle that was very safe and drives likes "a dream"! I found it in this R class. It is so kid friendly yet I dont feel like it even compares to a wagon/mini- van. After owning a BMW 5 series, Mercedes CLK and a Lexus RX...I am ecstatic to own this vehicle! Also, a big thank you to the team at Loeber Motors in Lincolnwood, IL for their terrific customer service!

  • Lemon - 2006 Mercedes-Benz R-Class

We leased the car in Feb. We have had nothing but problems. The lifters in the engine had to be replaced because the engine knocked. They didnt fix it and they wanted to replace the blocks. The transmission wouldnt shift right. They had to replace the fuel lines which took forever becuase they came from Germany. They finally are taking the car back. I dont think all Mercedes vehicles are bad but you get lemons in anything. We bought this one because our last Mercedes S400 was totalled in a flood after we owned it for a month. We must be destined not to own a Mercedes . Still liked the styling of the car, the comfort and versitility.

  • Teutonic Genius - 2006 Mercedes-Benz R-Class

This is my 5th MB and it has been a pleasant surprise. It is a superbly designed, extremely safe, highly functional multi-purpose vehicle. At 28 - 30 mpg on the freeways at 70+ mph, who could complain. Any comparison with the Pacifica is dillusional at best. Recommendation to mfr: make memory seating standard, especially at this price!
