Overview & Reviews
The M-Class' navigation system enters the 21st century by ditching the old CD-ROM-based design for a much more efficient DVD-based setup. This is the lone change as the MLs received numerous updates last year.
- Safe, comfortable, brisk performance, surefooted in bad weather.
- On-road handling eclipsed by newer crossover SUVs, gets pricey fast if buyer gets tempted by too many options.

2003 ML 350 - 2003 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By WLK - January 2 - 10:00 amSolid unbeatable safety features. Best snow vehicle you can buy. Typical poor fuel economy, SUV. Only average power from the 3.7 l motor. Limited color selections. The interior layout better than previous years. A womans vehicle unless you are only 150 lb. male. Narrow and short seats, too harsh a ride. Build quality below average for Mercedes.

By trip - November 26 - 10:00 amHad this car for a while now, enjoy it thouroughly. We did have a couple of issues, such as, power window switch going bad, power streering hose coming off. However, got an immediate first class service to address the issue.

M350 first 3 months - 2003 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By jmbarry - July 16 - 10:00 amThe vehicle has been comfortable to drive, and to my friends who had seen earlier versions, its much more luxurious. It seems Mercedes has stepped up to the plate and fixed earlier probelms and built a Mercedes level vehicle. But they kept the price low. For a car after 6 model years it drive nices, feels wonderful inside and is priced cery competitively. A great buy for the money.

Not for the long haul....costly repairs - 2003 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By BenzOwner516 - June 8 - 2:10 amI purchased this vehicle in 2003 and currently have 125,000 miles on it. This car has been a NIGHTMARE. The suspension has major issues, my total cost for suspension, control arm and various related issues is well over $7,000. The catylytic converters went at 90k miles,$2,300. Transmission control module, power steering column and pump, calipers froze, transmission mounts, motor mounts, heated seat caught on fire.....the problems are too numerous to name. Overall Ive spent at least $20,000 on repairs. All the mechanics Ive spoken to advise getting rid of this car after 5 years. It is definitely not built for the long haul. First and last Mercedes.

nic says - 2003 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By nicl - May 22 - 2:00 amLove the look, the feeling of safety and luxury combined, which is crutial in my work of selling real estate. Chose it hands down over a Lexus SUV, even though ride is rougher and am so thrilled that I did.

Unparrelled German craftsmanship - 2003 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By kt33f-anb - May 2 - 2:00 amDriving toward the sun, head lights turn on by themselves, when sun comes down, dashboard illuminats automatically. Downhill traction control is real. ETS+ works like magic during heavy rainpour on freeway. Ergonomic interior design, quiet cabin even at 80mph. Second row seats easy but little heavy to fold. Deep bass sound throughout. Precise braking, engine torque comes out needed. Head start lacks speed like X5, it is typical Mercedez. I am 6 foot, 265 pounds, it satisfies my size, leg room, head room, shoulder room, as well as hip room. Even the cloth seat itself has lumbar support.

The New 2003 ML350 Inspriation Edition - 2003 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By ScottEsq - May 2 - 2:00 amWAKE UP EDMUNDS! The much-maligned ML320 is dead. Long live the ML350! Even though the automotive press dropped the ball on covering this vehicle, it is the wonderful replacement of the ML320. The 3.7 liter motor delivers 232 hp and 254 lb- ft of torque. My Inspiration Edition is as luxurious and comfortable as the E320 I traded, and has more power. It holds everything a family of five needs for a weekend trip to the lake -- something my E-Class simply couldnt do -- in any kind of weather. No rattles, no sqeaks, no vibrations. A wonderful sport light truck!

My ML55 AMG - 2003 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By MBZdriver - May 2 - 2:00 amI love the way my SUV drives, it handles great for how big it is. It has 342 HP which is more than most cars on the road and is a real head turner. My Benz is faster than my sisters 2002 CLK320.

No Complaints - 2003 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By Zach - April 19 - 9:40 amWas my grandparents SUV but is now mine. Never any major problems for either of us. Great midsized SUV. Takes bad weather like a champ. Reliability is as you would expect for a MB. Some of the exterior factory colors dont look great. Go with black if its an option. My only complaint with the car would be the fuel efficiency.
