This Year's Model Updates:

The M-Class' navigation system enters the 21st century by ditching the old CD-ROM-based design for a much more efficient DVD-based setup. This is the lone change as the MLs received numerous updates last year.

Pros:
  • Safe, comfortable, brisk performance, surefooted in bad weather.
Cons:
  • On-road handling eclipsed by newer crossover SUVs, gets pricey fast if buyer gets tempted by too many options.

The ML55 AMG is a "Sexy Beast". It is faster than 90%of the cars on the road. Its a fuel hunger SUV; But What would you expect for a 342 HP SUV? Its a rocket launcher! I love everything about my silver bullet.

  • 2nd time around... - 2003 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

I replaced my 1999 ML430 with a 2003 ML350. Improvements have definitely been made with regard to ride and handiling of the 03. The 2003 has a softer feel, though I do receive more engine noise than the ML430. My two biggest gripes are the same as those I have read in other chat rooms: no stereo controls on the steering wheel and poor fuel economy. Other than that, its a great rig in many, many ways. Dealers are very aggressive with pricing on the MLs right now, too, so its a good time to buy!

  • ITS COME A LONG WAYS FROM 1998 - 2003 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS FROM MY OLD 1998 ML320, MOST PRIOR OWNERS WILL NEVER COME BACK. I FEEL MERCEDES BENZ CARS AND SUVS ARE THE SAFEST BUILT VEHICLES IN THE WORLD AND THAT IS WHY I HAVE COME BACK FROM A 1998 ML 320 TO A 2003 ML 500. WHAT A DIFFERENCE WITH OVER A 1000+IMPROVEMENTS.

  • ML350 Exceeds All My Expectations - 2003 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

My Brilliant Silver ML350 has exceeded all of my expections. I read that these trucks were so unreliable taht I was prepared to have some problems. I have not had any problems so far.

handles like a dream and solid as a rock!! gas mileage could be better but a lot of truck. bose sounds great but needs controls on steering wheel. third seats are really jumper seats but if you have small children they work.

  • ML350 Disappointment - 2003 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
    By -

My new ML 350 now has 1000 miles on the clock. 600 of those miles came from traveling to the dealer to have the " check engine" trouble light checked out. Apparently fuel management system and the emissions control system contains unreliable components.Presently I am waiting for new parts.A factory recall for exchange of power steering hose clamps was installed also. I very much looked forward to driving a Mercedes again. I owned a 230 for 15 years and a 280E for 3 years. They were great cars. Pity that the marque has fallen so much.I am afraid that I will not have any confidence that I can take this truck on a long distance trip.Bloody shame..

The build quality and reliabilty is terrible. I have never owned a car or truck this bad.

  • It is good one - 2003 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

Trade my 00ML320 to 03ML350. Love this car. Had no problem with my ML320. ML350 rides even better, improved lighting, air-conditioning, etc. Best in the class for the price, great off- road capability(beats almost all SUV in snow conditions), nice looking interior.

  • best suv ever - 2003 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
