Overview & Reviews
Extensive changes for the Tribute this year include a new base engine, restyled exterior and a new electronic four-wheel-drive system. A floor-mounted shifter replaces the awkward column shifter, and ABS is now standard on all models.
- Roomy and comfortable interior, peppy V6 engine, drives more like a car than a truck, long list of standard features.
- Mediocre fuel economy and driving range on V6 models.

Good SUV - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By CChan - August 18 - 9:16 pmSo far this SUV has been an enjoyable experience, except for the incompetence I experienced at the dealership. I have always had full sized SUVs, but I test drove this one due to the rebate and liked the appearance of it and knew it was for me. All is running good so far.

Great! - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By TER - July 3 - 10:53 pmThis is a great car. I purchased mine in February and have had a great time driving it. The sunroof is essential. Fuel economy could be better (I have a 6 Cylinder), but I can deal with that no problem.

Happy buyer - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By Sigor111 - June 8 - 8:33 amI must say that this is one of the best smalll SUV in US market I didnt want to waste money on . I bought it with 4 cyl engine sincegas with V6. MPG is currently around 22 which is good for the first 1500 miles. Car drives great and it has enough power for drriving around town. The only thing that I dodn;t like about this car is that the engine is very noisy. I dodnt know if that is normal, but I will check with my dealer to make sure that all bolts on the exhaust are tight. I am not used to that sound of engine. Other than that great car and with 4 000$ in rebates this is currently the best buy in this market segment.

I Like This SUV - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By jerseypaws - June 2 - 10:00 amThis Tribby replaced a Ford Explorer Sport. What a difference! Handling, ride, comfort, performance, gas mileage, even radio reception are all much better than the Explorer. Has the feel of a much bigger SUV inside than the Liberty and RAV4 which I also tested. This Tribby came with Continental tires which I chose to upgrade to Michelin Cross Terrains for an additional $240.

Great car - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By zips - April 27 - 10:00 amThis car is wonderful. I went in to buy a 2004. They were offering great incentives, but they didnt have all the options I wanted. I bought a fully loaded 2005, for just 700 over the 2004 price, which wasnt much over invoice! They want to move cars on the lot. And the Lapis blue color is awsome! Ive already received several comments on the color. My friend has a 2002 Escape, the sister car of the Tribute, and she had had no problems, 35, ooo miles later. And the stereo is just amazing. Buy a Tribute..NOW!

Sweet - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By Downie - April 20 - 10:00 amWe looked over many of the SUVs, but decided on the Tribute. We have been happy so far. Rides like a car. Feels tight. My choice was finalized by my contentment of owning 3 Mazdas in the past and they were very reliabil. This is for the 2005 year model S with the V6.

My experience with my Tribute - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By rebecca - April 18 - 4:53 pmI like my tributes design and the space in it,I fit 5 adults in it comfortably. I have had a problem with my back washer line coming out, and it has been in the shop 4 times since having it. However it is a good driving vehicle. Feels like your driving a car just heightend up a bit. I would recommend it to a small low budget family.

Love this car - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By mwe2121 - March 5 - 11:43 amI bought my Tribute in Feb 06 with only 6,000 miles on it. In 4 months I have put an additional 10,000 miles on it. The car rides and handles great. The leather seats are comfortable even after putting 1500 miles on in one day. Getting in and out of the vehicle is easy; even my Grandma agrees with me that its easier to get in and out of then my moms 02 Ford Explorer. Controls are easily accessible and easy to use even at night. Theres plenty of room inside the vehicle for 4 big adults and a child. With the seats down theres plenty of room for hauling stuff. The AWD works great in the snow and on the ice. Drove up the iced cover road to Paradise on Mt. Rainier - no problem in March and driven through heavy mud.
