Overview & Reviews
Extensive changes for the Tribute this year include a new base engine, restyled exterior and a new electronic four-wheel-drive system. A floor-mounted shifter replaces the awkward column shifter, and ABS is now standard on all models.
- Roomy and comfortable interior, peppy V6 engine, drives more like a car than a truck, long list of standard features.
- Mediocre fuel economy and driving range on V6 models.

Love my Mazda Tribute! - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By dbltrpl - December 1 - 2:00 amI have a 2004 Mazda Tribute.Had a long list of cars I wanted after I decided to give up the Minivan (teens all driving), the Tribute was the only one less than $45,000 MSRP, and it is WAY less. What a great value for the money! Every bell and whistle available for $24K!

Cream of the Crop - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By srambus - November 28 - 3:36 pmMy 16yr old son and I spent a good month of his summer vacation test driving and researching smaller SUVs. After extensive research and many many test drives, the Tribute clearly rose to the top. Best combination of gas mileage and style and comfort. When a KILLER deal came up in the local paper I jumped on it. I love the fact that the interior gives me the feeling of driving a much larger SUV, yet the actual driving and handling are definately carlike and peppy. The steering wheel has a nice grip and texture to it. In other SUVs I felt a roll or tipping sensation going around corners, but in the Tribute its practically non- existant. All in all, Zoom Zoom for sure!

Found an SUV I like - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By Bob DeSantis - November 26 - 8:50 pmWe have a Lexus 430 for long trips and nights out but wanted something to run around in. Since our kids are adults we never liked the big vans & SUVs & the small ones didnt feel comfortable. We didnt want to invest the money required to buy a Lexus SUV. We walked into Mazda and were immediately intrigued. The next day we bought it. We are having a ball looking for excuses to run to the store. We strongly recommend you consider this SUV.

Fun Car - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By Like the Mazda - October 30 - 1:10 pmHave 88000 miles on the Tribute and really like it. Have new front brakes and new tires. However, had to have front left and right axles replaced -- which was a shock as the car handles so well. I do like driving the car and it has held up well. I have leather seats and the leather is still like new. Would definitely buy another one.

My new rig - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By dale nelson - October 19 - 7:33 amPreviously drove an Infiniti G35 for two years and find the Mazda Tribute to meet all of my needs....excellent stereo (nearly as good as the Bose system in the Infiniti)...Lumbar adjustment works well....plenty of power, but only getting about 16 mpg in town so far....Anyway I would rate this rig as an 8 against the 10 of the Infiniti.....not far behind for $15,000 less cost and cargo room is excellent even compared to larger SUVs that I compared it with......I swore I would never own an SUV, but I love this rig.........

Fantastic Car - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By Greg - October 18 - 4:03 pmThis has been the best car purchase. I wanted to get a 4x4 for Minnesota winters but still have a car thats fun to drive. This definitely lives up to it! The revamped interior with a substantial center console and gear shift make it much more luxurious than past models and its space and handling create a much more versatile car than ones like Chevy Trailblazer. On road trips I get about 28mpg and all the comfort you could want.

This car rules - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By MtotheC - October 8 - 10:00 amIve had the 2005 Tribute S - Fwd for about 3 months and I love it. I have always had small compact cars so I worried about driving an SUV, but this car drives great. I love the new design and the cloth seats. I like how the black is no longer two-toned. It is very fun to drive and is a smooth ride.

Love the V-6 - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By Tim in Iowa - August 24 - 7:13 pmThe V-6 Tribute is fantastic--very smooth and a blast to drive. Does not have that tippy feel that SUVs often have. I am 61" 195 lbs and feel very comfortable in the drivers seat. Gas prices seem to have motivated sellers-- I got mine below invoice plus $4000 in rebates. People complain about the gas mileage. I am getting a solid 20 mpg -- not great but better than I was led to believe. Good driving habits help. I got pkg 1 -- interior is okay, maybe a little plasticky. Pkg 2 gets you leather and walnut dash but no moonroof which I had to have. Pkg 3 gets you everything but it will cost you. I live on a gravel road where dirt is an issue. The titanium gray does a good job hiding it.
