Overview & Reviews
For 2004, the Sedona has a revised grille with a larger logo. The EX model has a new alloy wheel design, while the LX has redesigned plastic wheel covers. A center tray table with cupholders is now standard on both EX and LX.
- Excellent value, roomy interior with lots of cupholders and storage bins, solid build quality, lengthy warranty coverage.
- Below-average gas mileage, missing a few key minivan features, potentially expensive to repair in minor collisions.

Kia driven for 133,000 - 2004 Kia Sedona
By russ75 - July 6 - 4:31 amI bought my Kia new in 2004 and have riven it for over 133,000 miles. Overall the car has performed well without unreasonable mechanical problems; except, the lines for the rear heater have rusted out twice. The first time I paid over $600 to replace them and Kia just said, "Gee, I am sorry to hear you had that problem." Reviews that criticize Kia for not doing something better for their customers are correct. Also the rear window defrost has failed. I have not experienced any problem with rust on my Kia and I live in Michigan. As my car has aged, in the recent months it has experienced a series of problems; for which I am considering replacing it. Everything gets old eventually.

Update to review of 07/11/2009 - 2004 Kia Sedona
By Frugal Driver - June 13 - 10:00 amStill very happy with vehicle. TIRES: OEM spec. 215/70/15 with a passenger grade is rubbish. Upgrade to 225/70/15 in a light truck/SUV tire. Currently using Michelin LTS MS. Ride quality and rubber longevity greatly improved! Transmission: buy dealer fluid for this van, have independent change it. This vehicle has a tranny cooler, so if you are hauling in hot weather, you are fine. Gas mileage: 14/16 city, 20-24 highway. That including towing 3500 lbs (as rated) and carrying weight.

More for your buck - 2004 Kia Sedona
By jgal - June 2 - 2:00 amI just purchased my Kia, so I am hoping it will stay as reliable and great as it seems. I researched reviews from various sources and all said Kia has become a good car and you can get more for your money. I dont think their low prices will last if these great reviews keep up. I think this van fully loaded would cost at least 10K more if it was a Toyota or Honda, etc. yet it provides the same comfort, reliability, and options.

Incredible Buy - 2004 Kia Sedona
By Chinchorro7500 - June 2 - 2:00 amIm delighted to rate this vehicle so highly. I started out just looking for a minivan with high saftey ratings for the family, but I am very pleased with the value and the extras I received with my purchase of the Kia Sedona. I really didnt expect much in terms of the interior, and it could - perhaps - be a bit more stylish, but it is so comfortable! Ive sat in all of the seats and cant believe how much more comfortable the Sedona is than my previous minivan (a Plymouth Voyager). The 10 yr powertrain, 5 year bumper-to- bumber, 5 year maintainence, and 5 year road side service cant be beat.

The best for the money - 2004 Kia Sedona
By dave z - May 28 - 10:00 amI did extensive research and for the money found the kia sedona to be an exceptional value. Ours came with a sun roof, flat screen t.v. and dvd and a myriad of storage spaces, rear a/c and heat and of course the best warranty on the market. Comparable cars such as the freestar, sienna and oddysey were thousands and thousands higher. I was a big fan of the toyota sienna but two additional years of bumper to bumper coverage and 3 additional years of powertrain sold me. So far I have been quite pleased. I will keep my fingers crossed.

Most Bang for your Buck! - 2004 Kia Sedona
By KevinCox - May 23 - 10:00 amGreat all around van...great warranty, great performance, great safety features and a great price. Gas mileage could improve but that is my ONLY complaint about this van! Would reccomend to anyone who wants to save some serious cash in lieu of unecessary luxuries. This van has plenty of bells and whistles...just dont expect a top of the line Sienna for 21K.

Suprisingly Competeitive - 2004 Kia Sedona
By falsesmall - February 26 - 10:00 amThis van definitely competes with the upper classmen in this field and would do so even at a higher price. I would guess this is the best car for the money bar none. Loaded with standard features, handles well for a van, very peppy and quiet engine accompanied by a smooth shifting transmission. Looks good in and out. Would not hesitate to buy this car again.
