An AM/FM/CD stereo and a tilt steering wheel are now standard on all 2004 Jeep Wrangler models. A new aluminum wheel design is standard on Sahara models and optional on Sport models. Right-hand-drive versions are also available for fleet utility service. A Columbia Edition option package is also new for 2004.

  Why We Divorced our Jeep - 2004 Jeep Wrangler

  My wife and I greatly enjoyed driving this vehicle - however, it was truly a Love-Hate relationship. Over the period of 18 months, we had this Jeep back to the dealership for steering column thud over bumps (fixed, but not until after they replaced portions of the rear suspension), clutch master cylinder failure making smooth starts impossible (fixed), water leaks from hood hinges (could not duplicate problem - not fixed) and two trips to attempt correction of "pre-ignition" (first time fixed, second time told to take to another dealer). Although we did enjoy our Jeep, we knew with only 18 months of ownership that we would never keep it past its warranty expiration.

  HUNG UP THE FIRST TIME IN MUD WITH FACTORY TIRES. RIDES LIKE A TANK. CRUISE AND TILT MAKE IT ROADWORTHY FOR TRIPS. HOT WEATHER, TURN ON THE A/C. A 3:07 REAR END GETS 22MPG SOMETIMES, CRUISES AT 1750 RPM @ 65 MPH, NO STRAIN, USE LOW RANGE TO CLIMB THE TOUGH HILLS WITH THIS JEEP. FOR $21,800.00 CHRYSLER SAW US COMING AND NOW YOU SEE US GOING-----OVER THE HILL ON ONE TIRE....DIDNT GET A TRAIL RATED STICKER ON THIS 2004 JEEP, PLUS THE PAINT SUCKS, ON THIS JEEP.

  Poorer quality compared to 2003 - 2004 Jeep Wrangler

  After less than 150 miles the rear brakes were making a metal to metal grinding noise. When I took it back to the dealer the service manager said, "It was driven with the parking brake on" (exact words). And the mechanic said, "Well, I prepped it and I didnt have the brake on." WHAT DO THEY THINK I AM? AN IDIOT? They had to order the replacement brake pads. When I returned the new pads were defective! Talk about standing behind your product. Not very good on poor highways. Had the tires knocked out of balanced twice within 1000 miles. Im actually discouraged by my treatment by the service people. And Im looking to get rid of it.
