An AM/FM/CD stereo and a tilt steering wheel are now standard on all 2004 Jeep Wrangler models. A new aluminum wheel design is standard on Sahara models and optional on Sport models. Right-hand-drive versions are also available for fleet utility service. A Columbia Edition option package is also new for 2004.

Pros:
  • Cheap, fun to drive, classic styling, go-anywhere capability.
Cons:
  • Soft top a handful to manipulate, difficult ingress-egress, slow steering, bouncy suspension on the street.

Great Vehicle. Used to drive only Toyotas, but found them expensive to repair, insure and drive that I decided to switch to an American Make. Am an avid outdoorsman and found the Toyota to be less capable of handeling the outdoors, the Jeep handles anything you throuw at it. Best buy I have made to date.

I have just finished the break-in period (300 miles) and it definetly seems quieter and smoother than the standard wrangler. The gas mileage is going to be hard to get use to since my last ride was a 4 cyl Ford Ranger. I opted with only the 4 speakers instead of 7 and Im satisfied with the sound. It is a fun ride and Im enjoying it tremendously. I will write an update after more time on and off the road.

Ive only had it for about three weeks and love it. I took it on a 1,000 mile round trip to the beach and it was great. Very quiet with the top and windows up. Great ride. Love the cruise control. The sunrider roof is the best. I get the open air feeling with out taking the whole thing off. Its great for the surprise thunderstorm. I would definitely recommend it as a first Jeep. My only complaint was that at highway speeds with just the drivers window cracked, the top rattled pretty loudly. I am hoping that some wind guards will help that.

This is my second wrangler, had a 90 Islander previously. No other vehicle is as versatile or fun to drive, especially summertime with doors off. Perfect for carrying my boards to the beach. this vehicle is not for everyone though, I commute 90 miles a day in it, wind is loud on the highway when I have the soft doors on. Gas mileage isnt that bad, I get close to 20mpg.

Out of the box, the best performing off- roading SUV available.

  • Unlimited II - 2004 Jeep Wrangler

This is my 2nd Unlimited and my 4th Jeep. I love it. The 1st Unlimited met w/an untimely death by a drunk driver 5 days after i bought it. It was hit on the drivers side door and took quite a hit. It saved my life. I "only" suffered a lacerated spleen & 3 broken ribs. If I still had my old 1/2 doors on my Jeep I might not have been here to enjoy my 2nd Unlimited, which I have had for a month now. I have put 2000 miles on it, took a trip to Disney World (it had a great time), and found the tallest "hill" in Miami and took it. Once again, love it, saved my life once, love the extra room, its what I always wanted in my Wrangler.

  • Wrangler Unlimited a Good Value - 2004 Jeep Wrangler

I am happy with the Wrangler. That being said, I knew what to expect from this vehicle and I live in an area where there are plenty of places to take it off-road and sometimes our weather here makes having a 4x4 a definite advantage as well. If you want a vehicle that can take you to and from work or to the store and you live in the city, then the Wrangler probably isnt for you. However, if you want a fun versatile vehicle that is reliable and can haul and tow and get you unstuck from places that other SUVs wont dare to venture, then you may want to consider it. For the small price difference, consider the Unlimited. It has more room and better towing capacity and road manners as well.

This vehicle is Awesome! I always wanted a jeep but I didnt have the room for the family. Now I can regain my youth and still provide for my family!

  • Too much fun! - 2004 Jeep Wrangler

The Unlimited is smooth and suprisingly quiet on the highway, The soft top is super quiet and provides a whole lot more options for taking the top off. Ive been getting about 18.5 MPG average. I have read reviews that suggest this Jeep isnt for long trips, but I beg to differ. Other than gas mileage, this Jeep is as smooth as most any other SUV on the market. (with the soft top on and windows up)

The Wrangler is a great vehicle that can go places one never thought a vehicle could go. Up hill, over rocks and through rivers. Very tough and dependable.
