Overview & Reviews
For the 2003 Jeep Liberty, a new overhead console, based on that of the Grand Cherokee, includes a unique interface that allows passengers to program the operation of nine convenience and safety items to their own preference. Liberty owners can now personalize several features, including which doors unlock with the first press of the remote keyless entry unlock button, the miles driven between service intervals and the amount of time the headlamps remain on when exiting the vehicle. Finally, an available six-disc in-dash CD player replaces the cargo area mounted unit. Standard four-wheel disc brakes endow the Jeep with improved brake feel on-road, decreased stopping distances and reduced brake fade. Available electrochromic interior and driver-side rearview mirrors help reduce headlight glare from traffic at night, and standard sliding sun visors have been added, which serve to keep the sun out of your eyes by providing added windshield and side glass coverage.
- Extremely capable off-road, creative interior design, still a Jeep at heart.
- Thirsty at the gas pump, not as "carlike" as most of its competitors.

I LOVE this vehicle!! - 2003 Jeep Liberty
By NancyHB - September 8 - 10:00 amIt has everything you could possibly want in a vehicle. I feel safe in it. The doors lock automatically, and it has power features that I enjoy. I like not having to bend down to get in, nor having to make a lot of effort when taking items out of the back.

My first Jeep and its a terrific SUV - 2003 Jeep Liberty
By HunterinDallas - September 8 - 10:00 amThis my first Jeep and it rides like a top and is fun to drive around town. It has alot more pickup and go in its performance than I thought. It was the best small SUV that I test drove.

One Year Later - 2003 Jeep Liberty
By RayF - September 8 - 10:00 amExcellent vehichle. Performs as advertised. Comfortable on long trips, powerful and quiet. Build quality is excellent and have had no problems whatsoever. Only disappointment is fuel mileage but this is a heavy rough service vehicle so this can be understood. Mileage is getting better as vehicle ages.

wow, i love the power and design - 2003 Jeep Liberty
By MuscleLegs - August 13 - 3:56 amI test drove a Liberty Limited about 6 months ago and fell in love with it; so, when the time came to purchase I knew exactly what I wanted. Am impressed with the turning radius, the cargo space (roomier on the inside than it looks like from the outside), and the look of it -- is truly Jeep with sophistication. Love that on the weekends can take it camping and off road, then wash it up and out to dinner and downtown Chicago other times. Really impressed all the way around ... one minor flaw, the obvious; gas mileage is a little steep for a "compact" SUV. Jeep should be overall pleased with the product they have produced, I sure am!

Freedom Edition is the best. - 2003 Jeep Liberty
By Jeramie Murray - July 27 - 12:03 pmI love this Jeep, I have always been a Wrangler guy, but they are not the most practical for everyday use. This Liberty fits the bill, seats four comfortably and has some storage; also it is a JEEP. Will go almost anywhere which is the point of 4 wheel drive and the gas mileage is far better than the Wrangler I had previously. I highly recommend this vehicle.

Jeep Has Built A TRUE WINNER - 2003 Jeep Liberty
By Trekkie - June 26 - 10:00 amIve had my Liberty for 6 weeks, and have already put 3,800 miles on it. Im extremely impressed with the solid, durable build quality of this Jeep. It has a powerful V6 engine, and it is simply a joy to drive... Its a bit of a gas guzzler, but thats the trade-off for the superior suspension and durablilty. Dont expect a "car-like" drive out of the Liberty. However, I must say that it handles itself quite well when cruising at 80 on my long drive to work... Weve owned Wranglers for a long time, and this is the first "non- Wrangler" Jeep that weve purchased. We couldnt be more pleased. GREAT JOB JEEP !!!

Give Me Jeep Liberty, Or Nothing Else! - 2003 Jeep Liberty
By jeep owner - June 15 - 10:00 amIve owned my 2003 Jeep Liberty for a year. What I really like about my jeep is the body styling, the look of the interior. Its got a solid feel to it, which I like very much. It,s got a comfortable ride and Its not too big. My wife didnt want to drive a big SUV. My only fault with the Liberty is the way the rear seats fold down they dontt lay flat. I am very satisfied
