The S-Type gets minor styling revisions in the form of smaller taillights, a tighter-looking deck lid and a restyled front fascia. New exterior panels have tighter fits, while the hood is now made of aluminum. Interior upgrades include new Bronze Madrona trim, a revised instrument panel and an optional aluminum trim package. Eight-cylinder models get a new VDP package that adds premium heated leather seats, burled walnut trim and unique 17-inch alloy wheels.

  Im a previous owner of a jaguar x-type of 3 yrs. I liked the service I received from my dealer, so I decided to move up to the next model that jaguar offers. I now feel like Im driving a luxury car. From the smooth ride to the quality build and extra room, I just cant complain about any thing. Im getting better fuel economy as well. Its been 29 days of pure delight. The car has everything I need as far as options goes, cd, nav system, moon roof, 18 inch wheels and some. Im looking forward to a long rewarding experience with my 05 S-Type 3.0. There may be other vehicles out there that out perform mine, but you cant beat luxury, style and class.

  If you are thinking of purchasing a 2005 Jag, this is the one to own. I get over 25 mpg city driving, I have never taken it on any trip, so hwy mpg is unknown. 3.5 years of ownership and no problems. I think Ill own this for a long time!

  Love this car, as others have said on recent reviews. Ride and handling is very good for the incredible performance of this car. Glad it has 5 seats, and is more much unique than the recent M-B options. An excellent value for the price, and so comfortable and easy to drive. If you love the racing heritage, and the Jag style and looks of many years ago, this car is perfect. And since a XKE of the mid-60s probably does not work as a daily driver, this would your best bet in many years. I like it even more than my previous XJ8 and XK8 (and BMW 7-series), much more unique and handles better than all three.

  This car is fast, nimble, and luxurious inside and out (plus I really like not seeing one of these at every stop light). The stated MPG numbers are a little generous, but I did not buy this car for economy. This car strikes a nice balance between sports car and family car. My daughter has plenty of room in the back seat (you can fit taller adults back there as well) and I have plenty of horses at my disposal.

  I have been extremely impressed by this car (2005 Jaguar S with 4.2 L engine). Beautiful styling inside and out, extremely stable on the road in all kinds of weather including ice and snow, tremendous handling, great acceleration, ergonomically efficient, good gas mileage, great safety features. The seats are firm but comfortable.The dials are easy to read, except in very strong sunlight. I had a 2003 S type before which had problems with the electrical system and noises from the steering column. This 2005 car has been perfect.

  I purchased this 2005 TYPE R a few months ago with 58000 miles on it. I deperately wanted the 05 s they made improvements to it and i had driven the 03 which was still an impressive car. It is by far the best luxury sports sedan i have owned, being British i wanted a car to match and this is definately above what i expected. The power and equipment are awesome and comes close to the MB BMW M5 equivalent. It maybe doesnt have the toys of the M5 but in comparison it feels bespoke and handmade in many areas and less clinical. I had a few fault lights come on for no reason but soon learned that the marine sized battery in the trunk was low on power and was ready to be replaced. Now it just WOW
