Overview & Reviews
The sedan receives exterior styling revisions with a new hood, grille, bumpers, side sills, taillights and wheels. Sedans now make as much power as the coupes -- 280 hp (up from 260) and 270 lb-ft of torque (also up from 260) on models with an automatic transmission. Coupes and sedans equipped with a manual transmission get even more power (298 hp) but sacrifice 10 lb-ft of torque. Sedans with the sport suspension package also pick up 18-inch wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. All G35s get a redesigned instrument panel and console area with aluminum or wood trim, and the manual transmission has been improved to provide a lower shifting effort. A Sport version of the coupe debuts this year and includes an even firmer suspension, a limited-slip differential, 19-inch forged alloy wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. Oddly, though, Brembo brakes are no longer available on manual-shift coupes.
- Powerful V6, balanced and capable handling, roomy cabin, reasonable price.
- Average interior materials quality, touchy brakes.

Great Car - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Walter Pidgen - December 8 - 1:10 amGreat Car. It turns heads wherever you go. At last a car I can feel comfortable with merging onto the freeways. Fantastic power and control.

Front tires need replaced every 7k miles - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Todd Akron, OH - November 8 - 12:10 amLove driving this car, except for the front tire wear. I am on my second set of front tires in 1 yr. Both sets of tires have had uneven wear on the inside treads, about every other 1" of tire there is a flat and peak area.

6 Month Review! - 2005 Infiniti G35
By JRealtor05 - October 11 - 5:06 pmEven after 6 months, this car is still the best buy to be had in the entry level luxury segment. The build quality of the interior has weakened within the past 6 months and there are noticable squeaks and rattles in various spots. Also, the speakers vibrate a lot despite not playing loud music. The interior is very comfortable and luxurious but I am disappointed by the power seat controls on the inner seat because you lose things between the seat and console with no hope of rescue. Still very comfortable on long drives with a relatively smooth, sporty ride. The styling still turns heads when you drive it. Lots of compliments on the car. Fuel economy is consistent at 19 mpg but it is AWD.

Fun but problematic - 2005 Infiniti G35
By great ride - July 4 - 5:33 amIve had the car for about a year and a half now. Its been a lot of fun to drive, great acceleration and handling. Youve heard it before, the gas mileage isnt that great. We get a lot of snow around here and the all wheel drive has been great. The problems have been in the quality of the car. 2nd day it was back in the shop for a new transmission contol valve (2 weeks). Since then Ive dealt with a leaky back window and now a loose ground wire in the dash and replaced a wheel bearing. Yikes! Im scared about what its going to be like when the warranty runs out.

Good, not great - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Cardude - June 11 - 7:36 amThe 2005 Infiniti G35 features the feel of a heavy car despite its smallish size, good handling, and comfortable seats that are still too small. The leather is average, the pickup is impressive, the interior is not what it should be for a luxury brand yet not bad, the stereo is nothing special, there is limited amount of space, the trunk is tiny, and the car has great traction.

Infiniti G35 - 2005 Infiniti G35
By J Watters - May 17 - 6:46 amThe Infiniti G35 is a pleasure to drive and maneuver in traffic, up hills and around curves. Also is easy to park in difficult parking spaces. Responds immediately when additional power is needed.

Excellent drivetrain but not perfect... - 2005 Infiniti G35
By timmietz - April 29 - 9:20 pmI have to admit-I am a bona fide car nut and, therefore, notice a lot of things that an average person would not. With that being said - overall I definitely like the G35. It is indeed a car that is a good value but there is a lot of room for improvement. Please see my RANTS and RAVES below.

My love affair is over - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Kathtot - February 6 - 3:33 amI love my car. But I wont be buying another one. I had to have my front brakes replaced at 12,000 miles. It was only around town driving and I do not use both feet to drive. Everyone (in the car business) that I talked to said it was crazy that the brakes went so quickly. Infiniti explained that they are softer than other brakes. And, oh well. My dealership couldnt do anything for me and I got the big brush-off from Consumer Relations East from parent Nissan. "They would put a note in my file that I wasnt pleased with my brake situation". As far as Im concerned Infiniti just lost a customer. Ill be looking elsewhere when I buy my next car.

Great but can be better - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Chris - January 13 - 8:06 amThis car is fast but in my opinion not so fast off the line. I had a 04 loaner sedan while sirius was being installed and it felt much, much faster off the line and in general, the engine felt more repsonsive at all speeds? The car needs more technology, its 2005 and it has reflector headlights, no rain sensor. no memory seat,no smart key, no onboard computer unless you get the navigation. By the way the improved interior for 05 is leagues ahead of the previuos generations. This iprovement is why I just purchased the 05 coupe, traded in my BMW. Infiniti are U listening??

This is a dangerous car! - 2005 Infiniti G35
By rose225 - October 31 - 5:03 amDont even think about purchasing the G35 Sport Coupe as a "daily driver" (as the service folks at my local dealership like to say)if you live anywhere above the Mason-Dixon Line. This car is dangerous and CANNOT be driven with ANY amount of snow or slush on the road (I do mean ANY amount). I did not expect this car to handle like a front-wheel or 4-wheel drive, but this is RIDICULOUS. I have never experienced anything like it during my 45 years of driving. Infinitys customer relations people (who I was fortunate to be able to talk to after avoiding a serious accident injury) say that this is a "sports car" and have suggested that I consider trading it in for another vehicle.
