This Year's Model Updates:

The sedan receives exterior styling revisions with a new hood, grille, bumpers, side sills, taillights and wheels. Sedans now make as much power as the coupes -- 280 hp (up from 260) and 270 lb-ft of torque (also up from 260) on models with an automatic transmission. Coupes and sedans equipped with a manual transmission get even more power (298 hp) but sacrifice 10 lb-ft of torque. Sedans with the sport suspension package also pick up 18-inch wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. All G35s get a redesigned instrument panel and console area with aluminum or wood trim, and the manual transmission has been improved to provide a lower shifting effort. A Sport version of the coupe debuts this year and includes an even firmer suspension, a limited-slip differential, 19-inch forged alloy wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. Oddly, though, Brembo brakes are no longer available on manual-shift coupes.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6, balanced and capable handling, roomy cabin, reasonable price.
Cons:
  • Average interior materials quality, touchy brakes.

  • Just Poor Quality - 2005 Infiniti G35

First, I love my infiniti but not sure why given the poor quality of the build. Problem 1. Cant fill it with gas. Fuel tank issues - took about a 1/2 dozen trips to the dealer to sort it out. Problem 2. Creaking from the front end. Dealer still troubleshooting but looks like its the suspension rods. Currently 5 sets on backorder and thats just 1 dealer! Problem 3. At 25000 miles my brakes are completely shot. $1,000 repair bill for new front rotors & pads, plus remachined rears and new rear pads. Thats $700 per year!!!

  • Still new, but should be fun - 2005 Infiniti G35

Ok, Ive only had it for a very short period but the car is really fun to drive. Aside from the sub-par Bose stereo display and poor functioning rear-view mirror, I would have to say that I am happy that I chose this over the 05 GTO.

Stepping on the gas of this car is like unleashing a mad beast. You can feel it in the push you get, you can hear it when the engine growls, and you can see it as your speedometer and tachometer leap up from zero. I have the premier package, which gives me a navigation system, a Bose sound system, and power everything. This was my first grown-up car after owning compacts my whole life. I will never go back! The only drawback is in the brakes, that need to be replaced every 9,000 or so. Still, Infiniti held them under warranty for 36,000 miles, so I feel pretty good about that for the next couple of years. Buy, buy, buy!

  • A Fun Vehicle - 2005 Infiniti G35

Great car for the price and great performance. Other reviews complain about gas mileage but thats the trade off for the performance. Ive only had the car four months, but no complains so far. If I could change anything on the car it would be only two things. A little more interior storage space, it has several compartments but they are small. The other would be another few inches of leg room for the rear passengers, if the front seats are all the way back tere isnt a lot of leg room back there. I have people in my office that have bought BMWs and Acuras and they seem to like the futures on the Infiniti more than there own cars

  • Great car; fun to drive - 2005 Infiniti G35

Wonderful car for speed or cruising. Sound system great, seats pretty good. Plenty of passenger room for 4.

  • Good car - 2005 Infiniti G35

This car is beautiful, fast and fun to drive with all the bells and whistles. But it is lighter in weight than an Acura or a Lexus. That is the only set back. Its too light and seems not as solid a car for the money that it is priced at.

Lots of fun to drive on smooth roads. Road noise is awful, like driving a drum. Styling is fantanstic. Acceleration not much better than my acura legend coupe. Surprisingly good on ice.

  • Has been great for 2 years now - 2005 Infiniti G35

I have owned this vehicle for over 2 years now and have had mo major problems. The interior has some rattles that can be annoying, but the dealer will fix them. The Bose stereo is garbage and the stereo display is minimal. One from the 1980s displays more information. My G35 just hit 28000 miles and I just now replaced the front tires. Rear tires are still original and are doing well. The throttle response is a bit slow and not immediate when you step on it. It works better to have a slow and steady foot on the pedal. Other that that it is fun to drive every day. Mileage stinks but I expect that for a car like this. I didnt buy it thinking I would save at the pump.

  • Love the car, but... - 2005 Infiniti G35

Overall this has been a great car. However, we are experiencing a big problem with the front, side airbags. Just replaced the drivers side a few months ago to the tune of $1,700; now the drivers side bag has failed and Infiniti wants even more. I believe this is a serious safety problem and extremely pricey. Further, Inifiniti will not give any leeway to me even though this is a problem that should not be occurring in any car. They appear to not want to stand behind safety issues. BTW, whats worse, they turned this over to Nissan so even though you may think youre buying a premium car, they treat this as a Nissan problem. (Acura completey stood behind a seatbelt issue.)
