This Year's Model Updates:

The Hyundai Tucson is an all-new compact SUV from Hyundai. It rides on the Elantra platform and is intended for buyers who want a smaller package than the midsize Santa Fe.

Pros:
  • Generous warranty, standard ABS and stability control, roomy passenger and cargo space, attractive interior, standard side and head curtain airbags.
Cons:
  • Low horsepower rating, some cheap interior materials here and there.

I was tired of taking my old SUV in repeatedly for the same problems. When I test drove the Tuscon, I was thoroughly convinced. With the V6 it has pep and the electronic stability control has it gripping the road securely and maneuvering like a much smaller vehicle. Its fun to get in it and just drive. It also came with standard ABS brakes and 10 airbags adn a super warranty. Being a sports Mom, it has the room to carry the bat bag, Moms chair, a cooler and still enough room to carpool 3 teenagers to the game. The controls are well located and easy to see and operate. Love the chunky look of it too! While Ive only had it a short while, I am enjoying it immensely.

  • Better than the Santa Fe - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I baught a Santa Fe in 03 and it seems that Hyundai corrected a lot of the things I didnt like about the Santa Fe with the Tucson. The advertised gas mileage is worse than the lie I told my wife when I was cheating on her. I average at best about 21mpg on the highway. Not what I expected. Nonetheless its looks sweet, rides sweet, and the chicks dig it.

  • what I needed in all my trips - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

I am very impressed with the ride, the comfort. It is big enough to fullfil all my needs, yet small enough to drive in busy traffic.busy streets. parking is easy. This is my first "suv". The more I drive it , The more I fall in love with it.

  • So far so good - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

So far so good. We are coming up on 12,000 miles. I have had the vehicle for just about 5 months and have not had a bit of trouble. I drive it hard every day putting just about 100 miles on it every week day. I have a really bad back, and this thing is comfortable, easy to get into, and fun to drive.

  • My Wifes Intro to Hyundai - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON
    By -

I already owned a 2001 Hyundai Accent and I was impressed by its continuing reliability and economy. My wife was considering a small SUV and I suggested she look at the new 2005 Tucson from Hyundai. We took a test drive in a Nautical Blue Tucson and she was "sold" on its quality! Although we have been driving the Tucson less than one month, we are already impressed by its fuel economy and its sufficient (only 4 cylinder) power to access the Beltway ramps. Its like a small truck when we easily put down the rear seat (completely flat without having to remove the headrests) to carry lengthy cargo. You can truly do a tight U turn with this snappy little SUV!

We purchased and drove our Tuson 1400 miles before we drove from Des Moines to Tampa. Driving to Tampa at an average speed of 65 to 70mph we got anywhere from 22 to 24 mpg, I hope to get at least 26 as it gets broke in. We are extremely pleased with the amount of interior space and with the quiality of the workmanship. The six cyl seems to have all the power we will need, I dont believe the engine is as quiet as a Highlander but then look at the difference in price and the warranty.

The overall looks, price, and warranty on the SUV makes it very affordable. I researched others and this was the best for the money I cant say thet I have ever enjoyed any other car or SUV better. I enjoy driving it.
