After receiving significant upgrades last year, the Sonata receives only minor changes this year. Among these are a battery-saver feature (in the event that any of lights are left on); illuminated window switches; a 12-volt power point in the trunk; and electronic, rather than cable-operated, releases for the trunk lid and fuel door. Additionally, Hyundai announced that it had misstated the horsepower ratings for all of the models in its lineup in previous years, so the Sonata's four-cylinder is now rated at 138 horsepower (down from 149) and its V6 is rated at 170 (down from 181), though the engines themselves are unchanged.

On the same day I purchased this Sonata GLS-V6 with ABS option, my buddy purchased Accord EX 4 Cyl... for about $4500 more. We had almost identical (if not more) options. I love the roomy interior and lots of extra features. Cant beat this car for the price.

By David McCormack - October 9 - 10:00 amMe and the wife just bought our 2003 Sonata LX, we own a 2001 Elantra. it still looks brand new, and performs marvelously. The Sonata looks and perfroms like a 30,000.00 dolar car, yet i got mine for 17,500.00 after rebates and dealership loyalty bonuses. My honest tip to anyone who is looking for luxury, performance and quality at a reasonable price must take a serious look at the Sonata LX. Defenitely one of the best purchases i have made in my life.

Its smooth and quiet.The front and rear seats are very comfortable for long and short trips.This Hyundai is very beautiful. I always get comments and questions like: "Is that a Mercedes " or "That car must have cost you an arm and a leg" If you can find a car at this price with these features, buy it!!!!

I COMMUTE ABOUT 2 HOURS A DAY, BACK AND FORTH TO WORK, AND I ACTUALY ENJOY TAKING THE DRIVE INTO WORK, AND BACK HOME AGAIN. MY WIFE ALSO DRIVES IT, ALONG WITH MY TWO CHILDREN. IM A BIT OF A WORRY WART, BUT IM NEVER WORRIED ABOUT THEM BREAKING DOWN IN SOME DANGEROUS OR ISOLATED AREA. IF THEY WERE TO BREAK DOWN, I CAN RELY ON THE FREE ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM THEY OFFER AT HYUNDAI. ITS A NICE FEELING, NOT HAVING TO WORRY ANYMORE.
