Overview & Reviews
Most significant for the Honda minivan this year is the option to get the Touring trim with the rear-seat entertainment system and not the navigation system. Previously, the two features were always packaged together. Other changes this year include additional child-seat tether anchors for the third row and standard satellite radio for the Touring model. Finally, stated power output for the Odyssey's V6 engine has dropped slightly due to Honda's adoption of a new SAE horsepower-rating procedure.
- Split flat-folding rear bench
- Agile, carlike handling
- Optional eight-passenger seating
- Strong reliability record.
- Extensive feature list
- Smooth and powerful V6

By ayda - August 9 - 11:35 amThe best minivan I researched for, and if the time goes back I wouldve still picked it.

Awesome Crash Performance - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By frei - July 28 - 2:15 pmThis van was just put to the ultimate test in a collision at 55 mph. The anti-lock brakes helped the driver maintain control for as long as possible to lessen the impact, and the crumple zones in the front of the vehicle absorbed most of the shock. The passenger cabin appeared virtually pristine, with the exception of the two front air-bags. All four people inside, including two young children, sustained very minor scrapes and bruises. Great job Honda! Will buy another Odyssey as soon as insurance money comes through.

No problems yet - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By Debra - July 8 - 11:50 amI have owned the 2006 EX-L since Dec. 2005. I just took it in for its first maintenance check and there were no problems found. I have just been doing regular oil changes up to now. I noticed a buzzing in the power steering - there is a service bulletin to replace the power steering reservoir which will be done at no cost. I call this my comfortron - it is easy to drive and a smooth ride. I love the turning radius which means great maneuverability. My best gas mileage has been 20 mpg and worst 16 with an average of 18. I suspect the "ECO" is a scam. I have had no trouble with my air conditioning. I bought and live in Canada. I also love being able to open the doors with the remote

Great Minivan - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By CPerez - July 7 - 7:13 pmBest minivan I had (3). I drive it DAILY. Fuel economy when "eco"light is on is great. Only disappointments are quality of paint & shocks. Kids bicycles scratches go all the way to the bare metal or plastic. The paint is not as good as my previous vehicles (BMW, Ford, Dodge, Volvo). I had to replace the rear shocks at 37,000. Other than those two things, the van is great. I am planning to replace it with another Odyssey

2006 Honda Odyssey - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By frank b. - June 10 - 9:04 pmExcellent van overall. Have not experienced any significant mechanical problems to date. Front brake pads made noise and were replaced/upgraded by dealership in response to Honda service bulletin. I agree with other reviewers that the climate controls are poorly laid out and cumbersome to operate. The radio controls are also clumsy. Van lacks automatic headlights and door locks. Very annoying considering the 1999 Oldsmobile Silhouette that it replaced had this technology.

Excellent vehicle - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By Bob Edwards - June 7 - 3:40 pmI bought this van in July of 07 and it has been a pleasure to drive. We have taken it on two vacations and it was very enjoyable. My wife drives it daily and she tells me this is the best van she has ever had. Wow she is happy, I am happy.

Buy the Odyssey over any other minivan! - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By Candace - June 1 - 10:50 amI highly recommend the Honda Odyssey. We search and rode in every single minivan offered and by far this van has the most to offer and is the most comfortable! Not to mention the Honda reliability! I only offer up to you to not purchase from Shaefer & Strominger in Bel Air (Bel Air Honda) the sales managers there think they are too good to sell a car. I only bought there because they had the only van out there that had everything I wanted - but the experience w/ them was enough to say that I would never go back.

Costly , should not have problems - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By J.B. - May 21 - 8:34 pmThe van has had AC problems from day one! The air went out on a trip and could not get it fixed. The AC still does not get as cold as our GMC pick- up. For a van costing over $30,000 it should have a perfect AC. The struts had to be replaced early after purchase. The front end feels loose and sometimes makes noise. Road noise is terrible. The van is attractive, comfortable seats and nice quality of leather. When you are sweating because of AC that does not cool enough that pretty leather sticks to your body! I would not purchase another Honda van. the gas mileage is only 17 and our GMC pickup gets that!
