Overview & Reviews
Most significant for the Honda minivan this year is the option to get the Touring trim with the rear-seat entertainment system and not the navigation system. Previously, the two features were always packaged together. Other changes this year include additional child-seat tether anchors for the third row and standard satellite radio for the Touring model. Finally, stated power output for the Odyssey's V6 engine has dropped slightly due to Honda's adoption of a new SAE horsepower-rating procedure.
- Split flat-folding rear bench
- Agile, carlike handling
- Optional eight-passenger seating
- Strong reliability record.
- Extensive feature list
- Smooth and powerful V6

The Benchmark - there is no substitute - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By Keith - March 21 - 12:41 pmWe are in our 3rd year of ownership and this vehicle has been flawless. Excellent powertrain, great handling, comfortable seats, excellent fit and finish, versatile interior and lots of storage. Great vehicle for long trips with 2 kids, the dog and luggage. There is no substitute for these vans. We rented several other minivans prior to purchase and they do not compare. Although the consumer trend is against minivans, cross-overs just do not have enough space. With the exception of the price, I cant understand why they are not selling more of these versatile haulers.

Love it - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By Laura - February 15 - 8:23 pmThis is my 5th Odyssey and we love it. The lease is up next month and I have been searching for something to replace it as we no longer need a vehicle this large. I have test driven so many cross overs and mid size cars that they are becoming a blur. Nothing Ive driven meets my expectations after my experiences with my Odysseys. I am seriously considering getting another one even though I wanted to down size a little, because they have been comfortable, reliable and great in the snow and ice.

Love it!!!!!!! - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By Mary - January 26 - 4:56 pmI traded in my 2006 Town & Country for the Honda EX-L. I paid $27,358 for the car and am very happy with the price. The sticker price was $31,390.00. There were only 3 new 2006 left and the dealer was running a special (can you believe a special on a Honda!) All 3 were sold that weekend! The car is very comfortable (I have had 8 people in it twice now). Very quite, a lot of pick up. No comparison to the town & country. Will keep this car for a long time.

Not a True 8 seater - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By Chris - January 22 - 9:10 amAbsolutely love everything EXCEPT the so-called 8th seat. No adult and very few children can fit in it. And if you plan on putting a car seat in it (even an infant car seat) you can forget it. The carseat will fit, but it restricts the movement of BOTH seats next to it so that you cant move them to get in the back. If you want a car seat in the middle for easy access, I would suggest taking out the 8th seat and sliding the 2nd row passenger side seat over against the driver side seat. However, if youre after a true 8 passenger minivan, this is not it. Try the Toyota Sienna.

Best Van Ive owned - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By Lee - January 12 - 11:20 pmMaybe were just lucky however the only problem weve had w/the Ody is a rear seat seam became unraveled and was fixed under warranty, At 52,000m we replaced the original Michelins and that is all we have done to it other than an alignment and O and F changes. Much better reliability than any of the four domestics minivans we had previous to this one. Well thought out interior design compared to some others.

Vantastic! - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By Dolphie - December 27 - 10:50 pmI had the EXL with RES for five months and every drive has been a pleasure. Great power and handling for a minivan that is so carlike . I had a 2000 Mazda MPV and upgraded to the Honda this year for my two kids needed growing room. I was pleased the two vans were similar in interior design and handling. I got comfortable the first time I drove the Odyssey. Vantastic!

We Love our Van - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By ck - November 19 - 10:20 pmThis van is wonderful! Our other cars are Lexus RX and Lexus sedan. This van is amazing - two kids live in the back with plenty of room for soccer gear, karate equipment, friends for sleepovers, toys, games, beach trips - even a full size sofa went for a ride one day! Tons of room. Captains seats are easily removable. Very comfortable seats - even the back bench is passable for adults. Great handling and pickup for a big vehicle. Easy to park with the backup camera and parking sensors. Fantastic turning radius! Only thing I hate-the run flats-like the idea of being able to drive without changing a flat, but the cost of replacements is too high, and they need early replacement. Love this van!

Best Van Ever - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By hondadonna - September 18 - 1:16 pmWe have owned four vans over the years and this 06 Honda Odyssey is the best. Last year we took a road trip from California to Wisconsin and the mileage was great, very comfy ride, kids loved the room for toys, and very reliable. No problems to report, just regular oil changes!! We will stick with Honda for a van because of the safety and reliability.
