Overview & Reviews
Most significant for the Honda minivan this year is the option to get the Touring trim with the rear-seat entertainment system and not the navigation system. Previously, the two features were always packaged together. Other changes this year include additional child-seat tether anchors for the third row and standard satellite radio for the Touring model. Finally, stated power output for the Odyssey's V6 engine has dropped slightly due to Honda's adoption of a new SAE horsepower-rating procedure.
- Split flat-folding rear bench
- Agile, carlike handling
- Optional eight-passenger seating
- Strong reliability record.
- Extensive feature list
- Smooth and powerful V6

Heads Up - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By bob t - March 28 - 8:40 amAt 25,000 miles my Michelin pax tires will need replacement in 5-7000 miles. Cost to replace is $225/tire. Cannot subtitute other rims or tires. Keep this in mind when puchasing the touring model.

Great Vehicle - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By terpfan - March 25 - 11:43 amWe purchased this vehicle to travel back and forth to myrtle beach sc. It is a 10 hour trip. I cant say enough about this vehicle. We had no problems whatsoever. It is comfortable and the dvd for the kids is great. We got around 24 mpg on the highway with the AC on. I think that is great for just breaking a vehicle in. It ran flawlessly. No doubt we purchased the right vehicle.

Honda Odyssey is excellent minivan - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By Mom of 3 - March 13 - 11:00 amI researched and test drove every minivan on the market including the kia, Hyundai, dodge and toyota. I also spoke with many minivan owners. The features that were most important to me were the flexibility to configure the seats different ways because I have 3 small children in car seats. I also wanted a minivan that was somewhat luxurious as I was not thrilled about the necessity of buying a minivan. I am so pleased with the Honda. It is easy to drive, easy to maneuver the seats and I love it! We have made family trips and it has been great.

If you want super gas Mileage... - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By Brian - February 27 - 6:20 pmI just bought a 2006 after driving a 2000 Odyssey for 125,000 miles. No problems to speak of with the old one, so this decision was easy. Nice redesign and much more comfortable ride and interior than old one. As far as complaints on gas go, these are large vehicles and they are not gas mileage champs. If you are getting 20 avg you should be happy. Overall a fantastic vehicle.

Best Minivan out there! - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By jenchap418 - February 6 - 9:50 pmWe absolutely LOOOOVE this van. The ride is smooth, quiet, and enjoyable. The quality is amazing. This is our first Honda and we couldnt be happier with it. In the past we have owned Toyota vehicles and the quality doesnt even compare with a Honda. We were almost sick that we almost bought the Sienna before looking at this van. Now, our kids (2 & 3) tell everyone they need a van like Mommys.

What Kids Want - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By fotovan - January 29 - 5:26 pmThis is the vehicle kids want. Our oldest [4 yrs] squealed with glee when we took delivery. Easy to load in and load out. The XM, NAV and DVD keep us all entertained at the same time. Dual climate control is nice. I have owned Acura and Honda in the past and would expect the same excellent reliability as we have had this vehicle for only 10 days. Honda offers a good product for the money, but would be well advised to someday do something about the road noise that is persistent in all Honda and even Acura that I have driven. Wheel well insulation/sound dampening along with double insulated doors [like German cars] would greatly increase the solid feel of the van.

Almost perfect - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By JB - January 18 - 7:50 pmThe drive is vantastic if youre not driving over choppy roads. Then the ride gets very noisy. Im starting to think the Pax tires have something to do with this. Otherwise when riding on smooth surfaces its equivalent to riding a Lexus or Mercedes sedan. Driver side sliding door had to be adjusted twice because of a noise it would make when taking off from a stop position. Sliding doors rattle a lot on choppy roads, more than I would expect for a vehicle costing 40K. Again may be the Pax tires. My decision to buy the Odyssey over Town & Country was the traction on wet roads. Test drove both on rainy days and Odyssey performed great, where the T&C was spinning its wheels big time.

3rd (and likely not my last) Odyssey - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By UVAHoo - January 12 - 7:03 amWe have had a 97, 01, and now an 06 Odyssey. This is a wonderful family van, and it has come a long way. The 06 is much roomier, and more fun to drive with more get up and to than the 2001 model. As usual with Honda, the reliability is second to none. While I had to pay MSRP for my 01 because demand was sooooo high, I was actually able to negotiate on this model - in part because the dealership was so eager to get their hands on my 01 which they sold the next day. My only little complaint is the plastic interior on the Hondas is a little soft as the belt buckle easily nicks the column next to the door. Love it, though, and will likely buy a 2011 or 12 when the time comes!

EX L -RES - 2006 Honda Odyssey
By Len - December 26 - 8:03 pmI have my Odyssey for about three weeks and put on about 1,500 miles on it. So far performance has been excellent. Everything works as designed. Very smooth and handles like a much smaller car. I thoroughly researched all of the available minivans for about a year, and the Odyssey is the best choice when resale value is taken into account. Combined mileage of 22.5 miles per gallon.
