This Year's Model Updates:

Honda has completely redesigned the Civic for 2006. Highlights include a more powerful and fuel-efficient 1.8-liter engine, new exterior styling, an advanced interior design and more premium features. The company has also improved the gas-electric IMA system for the Civic Hybrid and restored the Civic Si trim's potency with a 197-horsepower engine and a sportier coupe body style. Midway through the year, Honda will also introduce a new "GX" trim level that runs on natural gas.

Pros:
  • Fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly engines, lots of standard safety equipment, roomy and refined interior, special Hybrid, GX and Si models.
Cons:
  • Polarizing dash design, top-of-the-line models are pricey.

This is the best vehicle I have ever owned. It is refined, economical, fun to drive and great to look at. Every day this car exceeds my expectations.

  • Saved My Life! - 2006 Honda Civic

I bought my 2006 Honda Civic and drove it for 2 1/2 years. LOVED it! Smooth, has great power, comfortable, perfect size. In August of 2008 I was rear ended in the fast lane of a 4-lane freeway. I was struck so hard my car flew sideways into the next lane where my drivers side door slammed into the back end of another car at a 90 degree angle. I then flew across 2 more lanes of traffic, up the embankment and into the scrub trees. I walked away with a bruised arm and a cracked rib. No whiplash, no serious broken bones. My car was totaled, but I found had retained 100% of its value! His insurance gave me exactly what Id paid for it 2 1/2 years earlier! I went out and bought a 2008 Honda Civic!

Im so glad my experience with my first car has been a great one. I bought the CIVIC EX with Navigation, and it was worth every penny. I love the sporty look. reving it up when intering a freeways is probebly the best part. The navigation system is a life saver.

I love the digital tier and it gives back when you give it gas. I can go 0- 100 km/h in about 4.0 which is really good for an 1.8L 140HP civic

  • Hybrid forever - 2006 Honda Civic

I have an 03 civic hybrid and I have almost 90,000 miles with no issues and the 2006 is more powerful and void of road noise and gets from 7 to 10 more miles to the gal than the 03. The navigation system is the best I have ever used. A great little luxury car for under $25,000. I added the optional fog lights and day night mirror. The mirror is very important because SUV and truck lights are blinding at night because the Civic is low to the ground.

  • Hybrid That Delivers - 2006 Honda Civic

I have owned the HCH for a month now and during that time I have driven over 2400 miles. It included a long weekend trip. The ride is comfortable and maintaining highway speed isn’t a problem. Gas mileage: 43.5mpg first tank of gas and after learning to drive the Hybrid my last tank netted me 52.7mpg. Note: I stayed in the 65 to 67mph range on the highways to net 52mpg. Normally, I can net 45mpg driving at higher highway speeds. The interior is comfortable, well designed, fit and finish is very good. Trunk space is good, although the rear seats don’t fold down. The navigation system is cool and you can adjust, search w/the voice recognition system.

  • Love My Si - 2006 Honda Civic

Great car to drive. Only two problems: (1) Its so easy to spin the wheels, I already got a reckless driving ticket. (2) Dont hit potholes. Ive hit two this winter and because of the low profile tire, both tires split on the sidewall (cosmetic) and both wheels were dented.

  • 06 coupe looks great - 2006 Honda Civic

Traded in the 05 civic 2 door. was real pleased with the 05,but needed 4 doors. I looked around quite a bit and narrowed it down to two models; the 06 Jetta and the 06 Mazda 3.I went with the Honda because of its great reputation to building a quality product and because the gas milage was better than the other two.Iliked the Jetta better as far as trunk space and the "German" engineering and the Mazda 3 was a blast to drive but the Jetta was a considerly more expensive auto than the Civic and the Mazda only lost out because as I said the gas mileage and reputation of the Honda in my perception is the best. The Honda is not a zoom zoom car but is is upscale for a auto in this catagory.

  • Love this car! - 2006 Honda Civic

I have this car for two weeks. First tank of gas I averaged 45 MPG. The odometer right in front of my face reminds me to take it easy when I drive. I was doing too many jack-rabbit starts and always trying to get ahead of the other guy which wasted fuel. The MPG gauge and the odometer keep me from my bad driving habit so now I am saving money. Plenty of pep for the highway and handles very well. Very comfortable, everything is in easy reach, cup holders, radio, climate control. I have mapped out two trips with the navigation and it was right on the money with directions. Want to know where the neareset chinese restaurant is? Just say nearest chinese restaurant and several are displayed.
