Overview & Reviews
Honda has completely redesigned the Civic for 2006. Highlights include a more powerful and fuel-efficient 1.8-liter engine, new exterior styling, an advanced interior design and more premium features. The company has also improved the gas-electric IMA system for the Civic Hybrid and restored the Civic Si trim's potency with a 197-horsepower engine and a sportier coupe body style. Midway through the year, Honda will also introduce a new "GX" trim level that runs on natural gas.
- Fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly engines, lots of standard safety equipment, roomy and refined interior, special Hybrid, GX and Si models.
- Polarizing dash design, top-of-the-line models are pricey.

Great economy - 2006 Honda Civic
By yolie - August 24 - 11:03 amI travel 80 miles a day to work and this car gets very good gas mileage of 40 to 48 mpg. I am also able to use the car pool lane which is great advantage and time saver.

Mostly positive - 2006 Honda Civic
By LKH - August 18 - 10:30 pmI love my little Civic. I was amazed how well it handled Floyd Hill, just outside Denver (6% grade). I was able to maintain a steady 65 all the way up. Its responsive, and it has the best sound system Ive ever had. The only things Im not wild about are the headrest (makes your neck bend more than I like) and the low slung front end, which screaches on the bump as I enter my drive. They should prop it up another inch, and move that headrest back about an inch. Then it would be the perfect car. But as is, its awesome.

Two Years and No Complaints! - 2006 Honda Civic
By Nicole - August 12 - 8:43 pmI have had the Civic for over two years now and I think its a great car. It gets excellent gas mileage I get 32mpg city and if I do a lot of highway I get about 38mpg, I have gotten 400 miles to a tank. It feels like a well made car and I think for the price it is an excellent car that will last a long time, Im planning on driving it into the ground. My only small complaint is it is not very good in the snow, but I would rather have that a few times a year than have to pay out the rear for a gas guzzling SUV. Its a sporty fun little car that gets alot of looks and is fun to drive!

By Chelsea - August 12 - 11:46 amI love this car, it drives like a much more expensive car because it drives quietly and smoothly. It also feels spacious in the front.

Enjoy the driveability - 2006 Honda Civic
By David Caldwell - August 7 - 2:50 pmLove the new Civic so far. Only one problem, the SRS restraint warning light stays on about 1 out of every 5 trips. Took it to dealer and diagnostic codes were not downloaded on tester yet, so I am not sure why this happens intermitently. Probably just a false warning light. We will see.

2006 Si - 2006 Honda Civic
By T - August 4 - 1:03 pmI purchased the 2006 Honda Si after a great deal of research and many vehicle test drives. As a matter of fact, I test drove it, then called the dealer two hours later and told him I wanted it. After owning the car for a day, a rattle developed in the back. I began searching for the cause and determined that the passenger side rear seat was not latched - problem solved. When cruising, the car is very quiet, but accelerate up through the gears and the tuned exhaust sings as the engine tachs up. Cornering is a dream in this car with virtually no body roll, and the deep buckets really hold you in place.

Quite a surprise - 2006 Honda Civic
By rkrass - August 4 - 5:26 amI replaced a larger sedan with this vehicle which I had to wait a few weeks to get. I would say it was definitely worth it. The vehicle is well-designed and it is still fun to drive even after six months or more. I dont get 40 miles to a gallon although I have gotten close. My daily commute is a mix of highway and back roads. Initially I thought it was overpriced but I cant say I have enjoyed other cars this much. I am kind of a big person and the car has plenty of room. Well done, Honda.
