It really saves on gas - 2005 Honda Civic
By zack82 - March 13 - 9:33 amI went from driving a jeep, to driving this hybrid. Even with gas prices the way they are, I still am saving an average of 80 dollars a month on gas. And I drive a lot for work, so someone who doesnt drive a lot might need only to fill up once a month. The average gas mileage i get is around 44.6 MPG. It all depends on if you use the air and how fast you drive. Driving with the cruise control really helps to increase gas mileage. I recommend this car to anyone who wants a sporty/hybrid alternative.

Superior car! - 2005 Honda Civic
By Dawn - March 5 - 11:36 amThe 2005 Honda Civic Sedan is is car that is economical because it has excellent gas mileage and can last well over 200,000 miles. My car looks like a sports car with the new design and red color, but at a fraction of the price. It rides very smooth, is comfortable and spacious. The VP has many great new features including a CD player, AC, and automatic. It has great reaction time and drives well.

Great Car - 2005 Honda Civic
By Donna Moore - March 3 - 11:02 amI bought my Honda Civic Hybrid over two years ago. I drive 57 miles one way to work, so I needed a fuel efficient car. I have been very pleased with my Honda. I am very conservative in the way I drive. The roads I travel are narrow and winding, so the speed limit is 60MPH. I follow that and average anywhere between 44 and 47 miles per gallon. The only draw back I have seen thus far is the guard that is right under the front of the car. I cannot travel on dirt roads many times because the car hits center and knocks this piece lose. I have replaced this once, at no charge, but I am going to have to do it again and this time it is going to cost about 123.00 and labor. 80,000 miles so far

Love this car - 2005 Honda Civic
By luvmycivic - February 18 - 12:54 amNever had a problem in 3 years. Started without any problems every time. Only complaint is there is not enough room for front passengers feet with legs stretched forward and Im short. Minor shortcoming however and would definitely recommend. Sat in back seat a few times and was surprised how roomy it was.

so so - 2005 Honda Civic
By valkyrievf1j - February 17 - 6:03 pmI bought this car for 2 things fuel economy, and reliability. Based on those 2 things I am very happy with this vehicle. My main down point on this car would have to be the complete lack of any get up and go. Off the line starting power is poor, while the motor does pretty well at speeds in excess of 55 mph with little struggle. I dont think that this car is worth what it sells for, but so long as I can get 7 or more years of reliability out of this I will be pleased with my purchase.

Answer to High Gas Prices - 2005 Honda Civic
By Chris - February 10 - 1:36 amWe have only had our Honda Civic Hybrid for one month but the car is shear joy to own and operate. My 15 year old son is learing to dive and has only a permit. The Honda is a great tool for a new driver. The MPG graph shows exactly what your mileage is while you are driving. My son and I have a contest to see who can get the better MPG. Our best so far has been 50.2 MPG between fill ups and our overall average is 46 MPG. My son has learned very quickly that jack rabbit starts and stops eat up gas even on a hybrid. We have an 04 Miata and an 03 Explorer but we use the Honda 90% of the time. When we fill up at the gas puimp we seem to be the only ones who are smiling. Its the answer.

New Car & Surprises Not Always Good - 2005 Honda Civic
By traveler - February 9 - 5:46 amPurchased this new car w/75 miles on it from dealer. Nice looking exterior, well appointed & roomy interior. Great car for city & all flatland driving. However, it does lack necessary torque/power/responsiveness to effectively & safely climb hills, pass, & freeway merge when necessary without having at least 3/4ths of a mile or more clear of traffic to get up to speed (0 to 60mph in not seconds, but 3 to 5 minutes! Amazingly poor & unsafe performance!

wow - 2005 Honda Civic
By Ricky Tracy - January 24 - 10:00 amCar handles great. Its responsive and stops on a dime. Head room is low and drivers seat for tall driver has to be slightly reclined to be comfortable.

Fun and Smart! Who Knew? - 2005 Honda Civic
By Sheryl - January 18 - 8:09 amThis is absolutely the best overall car Ive ever owned (40- something... Ive had a few). Its fun, fast, economical, and rates fairly well for the environment for a non-hybrid. Im delighted with the performance and dependability, and find the design unique. As an event coordinator, I haul a lot of gear, and am continually amazed at how much we can fit in this bad boy! Its just the bomb!
