This Year's Model Updates:

Honda has added a new trim level for 2002, the SE. The Accord SE is based on the LX four-cylinder coupe or sedan trim level with an automatic transmission. Features setting the SE apart from LX models include an upgraded audio system, a driver seat power height adjustment, interior wood grain trim, antilock brakes, remote keyless entry and 15-inch alloy wheels.

Pros:
  • Great build quality, spacious interior, peppy yet clean engines, comfortable seats, excellent resale value, reputation for bulletproof reliability.
Cons:
  • Everybody drives one, bland personality, stiff highway ride.

CHEAP OVER RATED trash! Leased new in 02......including MANY rattles, gas mileage has YET to live up to promise, screws lying loose in trunk, painted plastic bumper covers aging faster than painted metal, sunroof doesnt open all the way, fabric is wearing thin on armrests, heat/ac unit cannot be turned off, headlights put out little light at night, accelerator pedal sticks when car is first started, etc, etc. Dealer UNRESPONSIVE!

I have TOO MANY issues with this car to list them all. Basically its an overpriced, over hyped piece of cheap trash. Gas mileage varies seasonally, lowbeam headlights are worthless at night, paint chips when hit with an egg, interior fabric on armrests was worn thread-bare at 10,000 miles, wiper blades were replaced at less than 5,000 miles, brakes as well, 150 horses and MOST dead, dealers attitude BITES as well. American Honda Finance has NO email address. NEVER AGAIN!

Had the Accord SE 2door 13 months. Attracted by the exterior looks, promise of GREAT mileage, Honda quality and the best lease going. Been dissappointed for 13 months. Mileage is NOT as promised, fabric is CHEAP and rubbing thin on armrest areas, light put out by headlights is so low that I use the high beams, loose screws found everywhere, constant rattle in the dash, visor mirror covers rattle when visors lowered, heater VERY slow A/C is worse, took MONTHS to coordinate rear view mirror with vertical power seat settings and "tilt" steering wheel to stop my right leg from falling asleep after 30 minutes. The dealer is less than responsive.

  • Hondas Image Is Fake - 2002 Honda Accord

Bought this car and thought I hit the big time. Man was I mistaken. Honda has the worst warranty I have ever seen. You can never get ahold of people when you have a problem. The rear main seal started leaking at 7,000 miles. Honda loosened my oil filter and blamed it on that. The only problem is I put the oil filter on and marked it.They got cought and started to crud themselves (have tape). The windows rattle and the seats suck. The car is slow and unresponsive. Wines but does not move forward. Foreign car makers bull the reliability and probably pay people to sit around and type good things about their cars on web sites. Think about it.WHO WOULD KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.

  • Honda Accord 2002 EX V6 Poor Car - 2002 Honda Accord
    By -

In June, 2002 I decided to upgrade and get the top of the line Accord. What a mistake. I have 7000 miles on the car and to date have had the steering column and transmission replaced. If Honda is known for quality, Id hate to see the product of the other manufacturers. Horrible car.

  • interior poor quality - 2002 Honda Accord

THE INTERIOR IS WAY TOO CHEAP. I GUESS I MESSED UP BY GETTING SUCKED IN TO A CHEAP LEASE. THE ONLY THING CHEAP THAT I GOT WAS THE POOR QUALITY AND UNCOMFORTABLE SEATS. THE PRICE DOES NOPT MEAN ANYTHING IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THE CAR. I SHOULD OF BOUGHT THE VW PASSAT

  • JUST MY LUCK !!!!!! - 2002 Honda Accord

OUR CAR IS A LEMON FROM DAY ONE. THE A/C MISSING DUCT WORK AND CAUSED WATER TO DRAIN INSIDE THE CD CHANGER THAT HAD TO BE REPLACED, AND NOW A BAD MOLDLIKE SMELL THAT CANNOT BE REMOVED. THE CAR FAILS TO START ON OCCASION. THE FUEL PUMP COMES ON ABOUT EVERY FIVE MINUTES WITHOUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION BUT THE DEALER SAYS THAT IS NORMAL. THIS WILL BE THE LAST HONDA I WILL EVER OWN. BUYER BEWARE!!! THIS CAR WAS MEANT FOR THE CRASH DUMMIES.

  • Dont do it!!! - 2002 Honda Accord

#8 on my list BUT I fell for Hondas aggressive lease program and to save a few bucks, I signed. Ive been sorry ever since. Gas mileage (15-18 city) SUX! The ride is EXTREMELY rough! Sunroof opens halfway. Loose screws and rattles found everywhere. A slug could beat this car from a dead stop.

  • Honda Accord 2002 SE - Not too satisfied - 2002 Honda Accord
    By -

The ride comfort of the Honda is very poor. The economical part of the vehicle is very good. The transmission is the weak part of the 2002 (4cyl) model. Vehicle has been checked out twice by the Dealer. Dealer cannot find problem. The transmission downshifts and upshifts very harsh at intermediate times. There is not a pattern to problem. Now I worry if I am going to be broke down on the side of the highway at some time in the near future and not covered by warranty.
