Overview & Reviews
The new model year brings a handful of changes for the Mustang. V6 models can now get the Pony Package, which includes an upgraded suspension with larger stabilizer bars, 17-inch wheels, ABS, traction control, foglamps and unique trim. The GT gains two additional wheel options, both 18 inches in size, complemented by unique suspension tuning. An additional darker aluminum interior trim upgrade package is now available.
- Solid V8 power in GT models, about as well mannered as a car with a solid-axle rear suspension can get, slick retro interior, good cabin ergonomics.
- No side curtain airbags or stability control, seats could use more lateral support, low-grade interior plastics.

Cant touch it for the money - 2006 Ford Mustang
By Macdadtexas - August 2 - 2:06 amFor what is really an inexpensive car, I have had more fun driving daily than any other vehicle I have ever owned. The level of performance that is available right off the showroom floor for $30k cannot even be contemplated by any other car. Throw in the fact that Ford understands and embraces the aftermarket phenomenon for Mustangs, and that the car is built for add-ons, and it can be a fun hobby. Spend an extra $10k in upgrades and you have a car that challenges Porches, and blows away Corvettes. Great job on this one Ford, now work on the rest of your line.

My show car - 2006 Ford Mustang
By Cricket - July 26 - 4:51 pmLove "Mr. Steed". He is a "Bickford Built" one-off commemorative of a 1960 GT350 with $10,000 in upgrades. I have entered him in 6 Mustang Club of America National shows and he has won first place every time.

What a car - 2006 Ford Mustang
By carlisleandy - July 26 - 1:46 amThis is one of the nicest and fun cars I have owned, and I have had plenty of sports cars. I get alot of compliments, and the sound and power is unbelievable. This car is pretty comfortable on long trips, part of the reason is for the redesigned seats compaired to the 01 mustang GT I owned.

I have wanted a Mustang for 40 years. - 2006 Ford Mustang
By Don Watson - July 18 - 3:29 amI bought my car from an auction I work at ( Adesa Sacramento ) and I love it!! It is a v6 with an air aid cold air injector, throttle body spacer and a Flowmaster exhaust. The previous owner also added blacked out 17 inch factory rims. This beast will smoke any G6 or v6 camaro out there.... If you can buy a base model and do the bolt on stuff yourself do it!!!!

Local Boy Makes Good - 2006 Ford Mustang
By BigBeau - July 11 - 5:13 pmTook delivery in early January and due to the seasonal weather conditions had to wait 3 weeks to drop the top. I have had limited opportunity to really go through this vehicle but, as is, it runs like a scalded pup. The suspension and handling exceed expectations. All of the amenities that came with this car are substantial. As the aftermarket for the Mustang is so vast, Im looking forward to shopping for any "personal touch" items that I might add to this light blue pony. At age 55, the only thing I might consider right away would be installing a defibrillator -- oh yeah, its that much fun to drive. Tops down, everybody!

Like this car a lot - 2006 Ford Mustang
By pappydave - July 11 - 8:08 amI currently have 31,000 miles on this car and it has never been back to the dealer. I have been doing oil changes and routine maintenance. The only complaint I have is the Road noise seems a little loud to me. I get 25 MPG driving to work - mixed city/rural, and got 28 on a long trip on the freeway.

my Mustang - 2006 Ford Mustang
By juan f bermudez - July 9 - 1:43 pmI have put only 1100 miles on a coupe GT Premium. I can not stop driving; it is the best "bang for you dollar" in the market. Solid suspension comfort, power and great driving. Ford is getting the hang of what we want!

2006 Mustang GT - 2006 Ford Mustang
By MIKE D - July 3 - 5:46 amBig bang for the buck. Roomy enough for two and space for luggage. Great styling inside and out. Constantly get positive comments on redfire color and 20" wheels and tires. Great handling and breaking. Acceleration is great and lays rubber on command. Great rumble from dual exhausts--may upgrade to Ford racing exhaust. Worth every penny of $31,000 price tag!

GT Premium Coupe, Automatic - 2006 Ford Mustang
By TNCPA - June 25 - 1:13 pmAs a senior owner who bought and kept a disappointing Infiniti G35 Coupe for only two months, this Mustang is much more than I expected. Excellent, sporty ride, quiet (when you want it to be), and great handling. Very responsive powertrain and a bargain for less than $30k. Redfire metallic with parchment leather is a striking combination.

Qualitys not there - 2006 Ford Mustang
By Mr boil - June 22 - 7:37 pmI love this car. Thats why it pains me to have to report this cars been in the shop almost a dozen times. It was in for the rear clutch pack TSB 4 times! The Shaker system ate several CDs. It rattles. Its hard to fuel at times. The A/C barely cools the interior. Ive had 10 year old Hondas that didnt exhibit 1/10th the problems this cars had. This is the last Ford this former employee will ever buy. What a shame.
