Overview & Reviews
New packages this year include a Work Truck Group with argent bumpers and a vinyl bench seat, and a King Ranch Group with exclusive interior and exterior trim. A 4.2-liter V6 has been added as the base engine, along with a five-speed manual transmission.
- Exceptional ride and handling characteristics, attractive and functional interior designs, multiple cab and bed configurations, the most payload and towing capacity in the half-ton class.
- Feels sluggish even with larger V8, no available side airbags, not much interior storage space.

G.O.A.T - 2005 Ford F-150
By JMcKnight - July 22 - 9:33 pmThis truck is a joy to own. My previous vehicle is a 2000 Honda Civic, so you already know the difference. I have finally joined the Ford family along with my wife & in laws.

New SuperCrew was worth the wait - 2005 Ford F-150
By Fyrdawg - July 21 - 11:20 amAs an owner of a 01 F-150 SuperCrew I was very happy with my truck, until I saw the new 04 style at an auto show and set my sights (and wallet) on owning one. Almost one year and 17,000 miles later and was it ever worth it. I custom ordered my Lariat from an excellent knowledgeable dealer and would do it all again. The trucks new exterior is incredible. The new outside is nothing compared to the inside. The new flow-through cabin design does not have words to describe it. The power moonroof, audiophile 6 disc changer, and power memory leather seats make for a great road trip whether around the corner or around the country. The ride is smooth and most of all for a truck VERY QUIET. What a SWEET RIDE!

Just what I expected - 2005 Ford F-150
By Mac - July 16 - 2:21 pmI put many miles on a vehicle and this one has been no different. I have owned many cars and trucks and this is one of the more comfortable ones I have owned. I "rigged" this truck up a bit but putting true dual exhaust, cold air intake and super-chip. Very quick for a heavy 4WD pick-up.

Love the Lariat - 2005 Ford F-150
By Mark - July 16 - 1:03 pmHave had this truck for almost a year now with no problems. I love driving it! It has plenty of power, size and I love the best in class towing ability. It is not as fast as the Titan or the Ram, but hey, I wanted a truck, not a race car. The added safety of the extra steel in the construction more than makes up for it. No disposable truck here!

The Lariat is a premium ride - 2005 Ford F-150
By dlh - July 3 - 4:56 pmIts good looking inside and out. It drives and rides more like a SUV than a truck. The premium audio system is very impressive. The Lariat is really a luxury machine. It has many features only found on the finest cars. My only complaint is that it is so large that it is difficult to park or put through an automatic car wash.

F-150 - Great Trurk - 2005 Ford F-150
By Big Dawg - June 25 - 7:46 amWhile shoping for a new truck, I looked at everyones and drove them all. The F-150 has it all, looks, great ride, comfort, heavy duty, and great price. Its overall weight is more than the other half tons; however that weight makes for one tough truck that will translate into years of outstanding service. Great job Ford.

1ST full size truck - 2005 Ford F-150
By me - May 26 - 9:50 amThis is my first full size truck and I love it. I drove all of the other tucks before I bought this awesome 150. This truck is super comfortable, drives like a dream, and looks great. This is the time to buy a truck, I got a great price(with some fighting) I highly recommend test driving this truck before you buy anything else.

Bang for the buck - 2005 Ford F-150
By Happy Camper - May 25 - 11:53 amI bought this truck a couple years after buying my house. Needed something to make those trips to home Depot. As usual, the occasional need arises to ask the truck to do more than expected. And with the 4.2 V-6, I was a little concerned about its ability to provide adequate power. The chassis build was never a concern. Honestly, the sluggish feel from the V6 doesnt fully demonstrate its full potential under load. It actually starts to behave like the famous 300ci in-line six. I was quite surprised when I hooked up my new 27 travel trailer, and was reaching for the overdrive button at highway speeds. Have towed a 66 Mustang on a Uhaul trailer, and 2000 of stone in the box. Not one problem
