Overview & Reviews
New packages this year include a Work Truck Group with argent bumpers and a vinyl bench seat, and a King Ranch Group with exclusive interior and exterior trim. A 4.2-liter V6 has been added as the base engine, along with a five-speed manual transmission.
- Exceptional ride and handling characteristics, attractive and functional interior designs, multiple cab and bed configurations, the most payload and towing capacity in the half-ton class.
- Feels sluggish even with larger V8, no available side airbags, not much interior storage space.

I hope nothing brakes. - 2005 Ford F-150
By uncle bubba - May 18 - 9:33 pmi know semi-metallic pads are to wear differently, but i have had this truck for almost 3 months and the rotors are looking like wash boards already. those things should still be glass smooth. the dealer says "its normal" but i know better. i cannot prove them wrong, but i know im right. other than that, i love this thing. i have never felt a tighter ford truck than this one.

And I thought my Tundra was good........ - 2005 Ford F-150
By TJ Vollman - May 2 - 2:10 amI bought my "baby" after having a terrible accident with my Tundra (it was totaled). I swore I would never buy anything but a Tundra (it saved my life) but then I saw the new F150 and it was LOVE at first site. WHAT A MACHINE ! Towing my 24 foot SeaRay became a walk in the park. Built like a tank....rides like a Benz....Im a Ford Man now and Im never looking back.

F150 King Ranch 05 - 2005 Ford F-150
By Jay Watson - March 1 - 2:16 pmThe ability of this vehicle to please me was easy. I traded a 95 XLT 5.8L. The engine was slightly weaker with the 5.4 but all in all performs well.

Looks & Value Rocks! - 2005 Ford F-150
By Mike P - December 15 - 9:43 amFor value where else can you get a V8, 4WD, auto, cruise, 6 CD changer, manual windows, locks and rubber floor for less than $23K? The 3" factory lift and 17" wheel package completes the look. Although an STX semi base model, this truck has everything I need and almost nothing I dont. An XLT for $10 grand more does not compute.

1 month review - 2005 Ford F-150
By mharrye - October 26 - 5:23 amAlthough I average 1,500 miles per month, I have put 4,000 miles on this one in the first month because it is fun to drive. Quiet interior and excellent handling have been pleasant surprises - I have never before driven trucks that came close. My other vehicle is a BMW 3 Series so my fun to drive comparison is not against something shabby. The only real reason I now find for using the Bimmer is fuel economy. Sure the F-150 cannot compare with the BMW on acceleration, but I cant say the truck is a real dog, something I had expected from reading reviews. Instead my problem is trying to keep it reined in. High speeds come quickly and unexpectedly due to the quiet and the ride.
