This Year's Model Updates:

The 2006 Dodge Charger is a new full-size sedan but shares many of its mechanical components with the Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum.

Pros:
  • Striking looks for a sedan, Hemi V8, firm handling, refined ride, roomy and comfortable interior, reasonably priced.
Cons:
  • Looks plain from behind, some low-grade interior plastics, hefty curb weight.

Great handling car. Smooth comfortable ride. Lots of rear seat room. Hemi has lots of get up and go. Acts like a sports car.

I was looking for a full size car that stood out from the norm. I love the roomy interior, large trunk and comfortable seats. But it was the aggressive front end and rear wheel drive that sold me. It rides like it owns the road and the acceleration of the V-6 is very good. The package with the heated front seats and the nicer stereo is a must. I never thought a large car under $30,000 could handle as cleanly as the Charger.

  • Lots of Hype, Little Substance - 2006 Dodge Charger

I got my 06 Charger Daytona with high hopes, and am very disappointed. The car is a joy to drive with its quiet interior, and delicious ride. The nav system and bluetooth give the interior a modern feel. The exhaust note is great when you hit the gas, but quiet when you cruise. Thats it for the good news. The car is sluggish at low speeds, due to its 4,000 lb. weight and 2.82:1 gear. The MDS system doesnt work well past 60 mph. Mileage is a dismal 17 hwy, 10 city, & the rated 350 HP from the bogus hemi (its a "semi- hemi", not a real hemi) is a joke. Not recommended.

It is a nice car. The only thing I do not like is the carpet. I think they could have went with a little more plush carpet. It is very thin.

  • Fun to drive - 2006 Dodge Charger

Its been a long two months getting all the problems worked out but I am now enjoying the car very much. I get lots of compliments and looks. The V6 really has more then enough power unless you really want to burn rubber. The V6 will get up and go with no problem.

  • Nice Ride, Needs true Manual tranny - 2006 Dodge Charger

Bought the car because I really wanted rear-wheel drive and dont want to ride with the snobs in their BMWs. Very nice ride/handling...doesnt feel as big as it is. My only gripe is the fact that American manufacturers refuse to put manual transmissions when connected to their best engines!!! I know, Mustang/Corvette...right, but I needed the full backseat...and I dont have Corvette kind of money. Come on Dodge, toss in a 6-speed and well call it a day. But overall, very happy with the car.

  • Plenty of power - 2006 Dodge Charger

Car has more then enough power and is fun to drive. Interior design is a little on the plain side but doesnt matter when you tap the gas to go around some slow poke. Just got to be careful and not give it to much gas.

  • Lovin the Charger SRT8 - 2006 Dodge Charger

Im just like a little kid when it comes to driving this machine. I have to give Dodge two thumbs up on this one. The performance and handling of the vehicle are just supperb and Im loving every minute of it. Ive been enjoying the performance and handling of German made vehicles for some time now and Dodge has brought me back home.
