This Year's Model Updates:

A midlevel Touring model is added to the Pacifica lineup, and the base model loses some of its standard equipment to accommodate a new lower price. Rear parking assist is now optional.

Pros:
  • Exceptional comfort for four, drives more like a sedan than a minivan, top-notch safety scores, upscale interior design.
Cons:
  • Average room for six, not as family-friendly as most minivans, spotty reliability on early models.

  • Great Alternative to the minivan! - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

This is a great car. Its quite a step up from a 92 Toyota Tercel. I love the crash test ratings on this vehicle. Makes me feel very safe transporting my family. The base model had most of the features I wanted, since I really didnt need all the extra bells & whistles. The all wheel drive has come in very handy in the Michigan winter. It is a very nice alternative to the minivan. I dont feel like a robot driving the same thing everyone else is. The fuel mileage is not that great, but what do you expect with a 4000+ lb. vehicle. Overall, I would definitely buy another one in a heartbeat.

  • Picked Pacifica over Freestyle - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Overhead DVD option is grossly overpriced at $1500. Same for in dash GPS. Avoid these options. Excellent vehicle for hauling the kids and dog to all of their activities. We looked at the Ford Freestyle also and chose Pacifica.

My control arms right and left side had to be replaced before 10,000 miles. Bushing were noisy when braking, or turning. Console gearshift has a chessey, stainable cover.Stains (soda, coffee), of any kind can not be removed.Im replacing mine with the other flat configuration, which are on later models.$50.00 cost.I dont care for the transmissions shifting, which could be just me. Its the same as my 140,000. mile Nissan Maxima.

Buyer beware with this one. We bought this car used for a seemingly awesome deal. Fully loaded, cd, dvd, nav, one year old half off of a new sticker. ABS is a real issue. Now you need to replace an entire wheel if a sensor goes out. That is $500 for a $50 part. General maintenance also adds up to almost another $100/mo. New tires, and I shopped this, almost $1000! At least I didnt have to pay for the recall issue, which the dealer didnt tell me about. Also, the air conditioning is not great. Nice ride, but not worth the cost.

first let me say this vehicle can get the job done. bought this crossover 2 yrs ago and love way it rides, very comfortable. that being said i have also had to put it in shop 3 times. abs light came on . then some sensor went out, then control arms had to b replaced also had a recall on it for fuel pump. i think its just the downside of buying a vehicle same yr model came out, so bugs werent worked out yet. going more luxury on my next one but pacifica is way to go . bottom line ..get one but get extended warranty on it.

The Pacifica drives sooo nice. It drives like a car on our curvy roads in Kentucky, the leather heated seats are just awesome when its chilly out. The AWD is great in rain & snow.

  • Great Vehicle, bought another! - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Bought the car for my wife who sells real estate and travels with people along. Here in ohio we get snow in the winter and mud in the spring. She has never been stuck or had any traction trouble. the center row seats are heated and recline! My highlander lease was up this month and rather then get a new one I opted for the 07 Pacifica. NO REGRETS! GREAT RIDE. No problems. And my wife is happy i dont borrow hers any more, I can fold down the back two rows of seats and carry the things i could never fot in my Toyota. I can honestly say that the Chrysler Handles better in the rain and snow. and doest tend to nose dive when braking. as for power? AUTOSTICK is standard and give great performance!

I purchased this vehicle for road trips and it is an outstanding cruiser. The road noise is low, handling on the highway is excellent, and the interior design is great. The only problem was a squeak in the lumbar support and a stalling problem with air on and low speed left turns. This was corrected by a factory recall and the seat is being repaired under warranty. Highway mileage - Pa to FL (960 miles) through mountains and at 80 mph in southern states is 20.1

  • The Worse!!!!! - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

This is the worst vehicle I have ever purchased!! I would not buy another Chrysler product because of all the problems that I have had. The front suspension has been replaced 3 times and is in need of another replacement in which Chrylser refuses (Lemon Law). The PTO also has been replaced twice. STAY AWAY!

OK!! Way underpowered. Needs at least 75 more horsepower and a 5 or 6 speed transmission. 4300 pound vehicle, need I say more. AWD is wonderful. Have never hydroplaned one time in Houston rain. Actually from Detroit but the vehicle hasnt seen snow yet. Mileage is below what I would like to have. Actual 16 and 20.5. Would sincerely consider another one. Rear visibility badly compromised.
