This Year's Model Updates:

The Tahoe gets a host of new upgrades for 2003. On the inside, you'll find new tri-zone climate controls, an enhanced driver-information center and a redesigned center console and instrument panel. New options includes second-row bucket seats and adjustable pedals. A revised lineup of entertainment options offers buyers a Bose audio system, as well as XM Satellite Radio and a DVD-based entertainment system. For increased safety, there are dual-stage airbags, a standard front-passenger-sensing system, three-point belts for all second-row passengers and an available StabiliTrak stability control system on Tahoes with the 5300 V8. The braking system has been upgraded for what Chevrolet says is better pedal feel and performance and Tahoes sold in California are now fitted with a new catalytic converter that earns the truck ULEV certification. Deleted items on the Tahoe are minor. No longer standard are third-row floor mats, an underhood light, a 7-to-4 pin trailer brake adapter, an auxiliary door lock switch in the cargo area and a lock for the center console.

Pros:
  • Strong engines, roomy and versatile interior, numerous available amenities.
Cons:
  • Spotty build quality, interior materials could use improvement.

I think GM wrecked the 2003 tahoe, the 2002 was the last good year. The front seats are larger in the 02 than the 03. There are too many cubby holes in the dash area in the 03, and it looks unattractive. Had to take it to the dealer many times to fix a simple, yet, messy problem with the front axle leaking due to a defective vent tube. Build quality was surprisingly good. Great ride for an SUV with a truck frame!

This SUV stands far and away better than Expedition or Navigator for a couple of reasons. Better build, better ride, and better quality for your money. We did not pick the Navigator because it was just an over priced FORD. We also did not pick the Expedition because from the inside the quality was not their. Although the Expedition was comparably priced it just "Felt Cheap". The Tahoe is all class and very very comfortable and enjoyable.

I had been looking for a car and or an SUV to eplace my Ford Explorer. (By the way - My for NEVER had a problem and I had it 4 yeas.) Anyway, The Tahoe Z71 (with the entire bell and whistle package) is not a sports car. Too fast around a corner and the high side walls of the tires flex and a 4 wheel drift is started. But, very responsive. But, its not made for that. Power, its there when you need it. Comfort, its definately there. Smoth ride and a very suprising tight turning radius for the size. Overall, I am very happy with the puchase. I got white with tan leather. Other car/SUVs I was looking at: BMW X5, Land Rover, Lexius 330

Love this vehicle. It drives like a car and is very versatile. I drive the Tahoe mainly to work, but during family vacations, it has been wonderful. The acceleration is very good. Handling is excellent for my type of driving ( mild).

  • Z71 Tahoe - Close to Perfect - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

I purchased a white 2003 Z71 Tahoe October 2002. This vehicle is incredible looking and great to drive. Chevy has put so much cool stuff in this vehicle that it would take 10 pages to describe everything. The options I added were a sunroof and liftgate rear hatch, everthing else is standard. The drawback of having so much standard equipment is the price. After I added the sunroof and rear lift gate, the sticker price was over $43,500.00. A drawback to the vehicle, besides price, is the fuel consumption (avg. 13.5 MPG). Overall I would say the Z71 is close to perfect if you want something that is a lot of fun to drive and turns heads everywhere you go.

Every where I go people look at my Tahoe. I went with the indigo blue, with tan interior, dark tinted glass all the way around, clear tail lights, and bumper guard It looks great!!

We bought one of the first Tahoes when the new "Suburban" bodystyle came out in 1995. It was a great vehicle for family ventures to the beach and nice for hauling groceries and shopping packages. The new model goes well above our previous Tahoe with improved engine performance, ride, and features. A great family SUV for road traveling and long trips.

  • Gas is a killer, but I love my Tahoe - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

I just purchased my Tahoe, and it is everything I thought it would be. Gas is a killer, but dont you hear that complaint with all BIG SUVs. I wanted it..I got it...and I am HAPPY!!

  • Tahoe is a great Truck - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

It drives small for a big car. My wife didnt want anything as big as a Tahoe because she expected it would be hard to drive. She loves the car! I think the engine and the short turning radius are two of the best features. You can actually beat most sedans of the line when the light turns green. The seats are comfortable and the car fits in the garage. The kids love having enough room to spread out and long car trips are so much more enjoyable for everyone.

  • Fuel be gone - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

Fun truck to drive, but I was unprepared for the amount of gas this vehicle drinks. Now that gas is $1.68 per gallon for regular unleaded I am wishing for better MPG. I am averaging about 12 mpg in city driving. A little less than advertised. In addition, the car has developed several rattles that the dealer cannot seem to fix. I guess that is to be expected from a GM product. I sure hope gas prices come down!
