This Year's Model Updates:

Chevrolet fiddles with the trim levels -- last year's base model is now the LS, while last year's LS model is now the LT.

Pros:
  • Low price, nimble handling, ample headroom, logical control layout, available MP3 player, loads of cargo room in hatchback models.
Cons:
  • Not much power, imprecise manual shifter, side airbags not available.

  • Aveo? WHY NOT!! - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo

I bought this car for my mom. She had a Neon before this car. This car was $1,000s cheaper and is a lot nicer. Good car for teenagers or the elderly. This car has a smooth and quiet ride.

Totally amazed with Aveos power, styling and comfort considering itÂ’s an economy car, and very inexpensive. Would definitely recommend this car to anyone thinking of buying an economy vehicle. Once you master how to utilize the hold button on the automatic which I purchased, this car is awesome.

Not a great looking ride, nothing to show off or be proud of. But if you want a new car with payments that are easy to make, great gas mileage, and not a fortune to insure, this car is great. No complaints

  • 2005 Chevy Aveo LS Hatch - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo

Small size, price, and fuel economy were driving factors as a replacement commuter pod with versatile storage. The 5-speed transmission has a little slack in shifting. The engine delivers 70-mph at 3000rpm in 5th gear. Mileage did not clear 31MPG after 5K miles. The passenger compartment is roomy and the console intuitive. The radio/CD runs surprisingly hot - I wouldnt leave a CD in for more than 90 minutes. The hatch area (manual independent lock) is not deep but can accomodate storage in laundry basket modules. The rear seat fold-down space works easily but the seats do not recess and they cause a 6" step up for the storage floor. Nice profile.

  • "Special Value" - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo

I use my cute little Aveo primarily to commute to work. After all of the various discounts, I paid $8,300 for the special value model. I enjoy knowing that I made a smart decision. I get about 28mpg in the city and 33 on the highway. This little car has a lot of useful room. The rear seat has a special way of folding down to make the back cargo area completely flat and 100% usable. The only thing I really miss is air conditioning. If you want it, youre going to end up paying a lot more. I also wish it had a CD player standard.

Been driving ny LS Sedan Aveo 2005 for a month. Till now good value for money. Goes about 415km on a full tank {with AC on}. Very spacious on the inside. Silver is perhaps the best colour here. I got my windows tinted silver..so it looks cool. The pick-up is not very powerful but once a speed is attained it cruises smoothly. The fuel indicator is very dim and fluctuates. The seat has no height adjuster. AC is very effective. Engine is spaced out neatly for air to pass around. Have overall enjoyed till now. I would recommend it if you are looking for a decent value for the money.

didnt have lots of cash and needed a car real quick the gas milage is not what they say it is but it never is. other wise its fun it handles great and with my bad back its easy to get in and out of I am 5 ft 11 in and weight 250lbs and its still very comfortable with pleanty of head room more than the impala I was really surprised if you dont have lots of cash and need a reliabe car to zip around in this is it

  • Poor handling on the highway - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
    By -

We found it was hard to pass vehicles on the highway. The tachometer swings wildly and the car gets stuck in low gear, with drivers behind us giving us an annoyed look. The ABS of this car also gives problems when trying to slow down during an exit from the highway. It actually veered offroad into a collision. The car is too small to handle well in windy conditions. Overall, while some may like the head room and drivers seat, my old Toyota Corolla is way ahead of this car in terms of reliability and and highway handling.

  • Aveo - Nice car but not fuel efficient - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo

The Aveo is a truly delightful car and my only complaint is that that it does not get anywhere near the fuel consumption it is reputed to have.
