Chevrolet fiddles with the trim levels -- last year's base model is now the LS, while last year's LS model is now the LT.

Pros:
  • Low price, nimble handling, ample headroom, logical control layout, available MP3 player, loads of cargo room in hatchback models.
Cons:
  • Not much power, imprecise manual shifter, side airbags not available.

  • A Fun Ride - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo

The Aveo my first brand new car! I bought it 1/2/05 in Tampa Florida and proceeded to drive it to Detroit Michigan, 1306 miles! It drove well on the freeway holding its own with the big rigs and taking the mountains very well for a 4 cylinder. Gas mileage on the highway was good about 30 MPG and city isnt too great 20-21 MPG, but it is winter here! My coworkers and friends love it. It has lots of interior room for such a compact car. I have been asked by strangers what it is and where I got it more than a few times, so I think it will be around a while. I traded in a Ford Aspire to get this car, so anyone used to small car driving should love it with the huge interior and user friendly dash. I really like this car! I think I overpaid by about $2,000 but I REALLY wanted it! So I got it and I do like it a lot, my first Chevy and I am thus far impressed!

I find the Aveo a very fun car to drive. Its interior is extremely large for the size of car it is. It’s not nearly a boxy as the Mini Cooper. My friends tell me that I have a new toy. I agree. I have named it Mighty Mouse. It gets pretty good mileage; maybe 28 mpg. If you need a car to commute with, it’s the one.

I love my Aveo! As soon as I saw that these were going to be coming out soon I just had to have one! Its great on gas, comfortable and very roomy. My husband is a big man and he has enough room for his long legs. I get great mileage and I just cant get over how good the car drives. I just cant say enough about my Aveo. I just hope more people buy them so they can experince the same.

The car is an amazing little beast. It may not have a lot of power, but come on, its a 4 cylinder. It has plenty for its size. Lots of room for bigger people. Especially leg and head room. I never feel cramped when riding in it.

Fun to drive, great on gas and for a busy teacher on the go it is great. It has ample room for 3 teenagers to travel. I love the CD player and keyless entry features. I am averaging around 29 to 32 miles per gallon go to a from work.

  • Fuel economy and driving fun - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo

I needed a vehicle for a 120 mile daily commute and I wanted to start with a new vehicle for the warranty and safety and peace of mind. I have had the Aveo for over 3 months now and I am very happy with it. I just turned over ten thousand miles now, and the fuel mileage is now at 35 mpg, as advertised. The ride is excellent, handling is very good, and the interior room and quietness is good. I drive the interstate daily; it’s a light car, so big trucks tend to blow it around a little when passing or following them. It’s also a car that demands a little more attention in rainy weather or very wet roads, I guess due to its light weight. I highly recommend this vehicle.

  • Basic run-around car - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo

Great car to run errands with, take to the stadium or downtown to dinner and a show. Easy to park. Comfy enough for four on a short excursion. Not for cross-country. Roomier than it looks. Reminds me of the VWs of my youth

  • Perfect first car! - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo
    By -

This is my first car (Im 22) and I love it! Fuel economy is excellent, and it provides a good drive. For a small car it can be quite zippy when you want it to be. Its easy to coax into high speeds for highway driving. The air conditioning is fast to cool you down in 90+ heat, and in Texas, you need that. Ive fit some tall friends in the back comfortably, and everybody loves it. Plus its just uber cute, and the Aveo has the best color selection, way better then the Ford Focus or Toyota Echo.

My Aveo is a nice vehicle for my purposes. I get great gas mileage. It handles well on the highway. It doesnt blow the doors off of anyone, but its got a little zip once it gets going. My only complaint is the steering pulls to the left a little.

  • One year with the Aveo - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo

I bought an automatic LS in Feb 2004. After one year I still like it just as much as when I bought it. It really is much bigger on the inside than it has a right to be. Seats 4 adults comfortably, even for long trips. The dashboard "trays" are really useful. I get 27 MPG mixed / 35 MPG highway. NO mechanical problems first year, one recall for rear seat belt guide.
