This Year's Model Updates:

Chevrolet fiddles with the trim levels -- last year's base model is now the LS, while last year's LS model is now the LT.

Pros:
  • Low price, nimble handling, ample headroom, logical control layout, available MP3 player, loads of cargo room in hatchback models.
Cons:
  • Not much power, imprecise manual shifter, side airbags not available.

  • Aveo - Nice car but not fuel efficient - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo

The Aveo is a truly delightful car and my only complaint is that that it does not get anywhere near the fuel consumption it is reputed to have.

This is the best little car. I had a Geo Metro, and this somewhat reminds me of it in terms of its size and looks, but this is a much better quality. The inside reminds me of a minivan, and is very roomy for its size. I have received many compliments on the car and the color (teal/aqua) from total strangers, including the McDonalds drive thru window lady! A great little car for commuting to the city or for interstate travel (I do both every week). The suspension is perfect; it turns on a dime and gives you change back. I highly recommend this car to anyone.

It has performed flawlessly to date. No problems whatsoever. As a large person the design is very comfortable and good gas mileage, handling, and ride.

  • Not bad for money! - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo

Aveo is made in Korea, a car popular overseas as Daewoo. KALOS design in Italy. I got only 24 mpg in street with auto transmission. Accelerator pedal become shaky at 65 mph. Its hard for the 1.6L engine to go up a hill; I could not reach 45 mph on Verazzano Bridge NYC. Car has slow acceleration. Weak engine made by GM and not as fuel economical as I sought

  • My little baby... - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo

Frankly its a little petal pusher but all in all it is a great little car! The gas mileage is awsome..everytime I fill my gas tank suprisingly it is less than $20. Also the fear of parallel parking is swept away because all I have to do is just pull into the spot! But my favorite characteristic about the aveo would have to be its look its just soo adorable! Go get one.

  • I love this car - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo

I love this car. Its perfect for city driving. The interior is so roomy and designed to look sporty. The exterior has a futuristic sort of look to it. Ive had one problem with it. Whenever I accelerate from a complete stop, it makes a popping noise. Still a fabulous car!

  • Excellent Value for the money - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo

At 1 1/2 months old with 2,100 miles on my Aveo, Ive found I really enjoy driving this tight well built little compact with the big car room inside. Acceleration, handling, braking, ride quality, economy of operation, quietness while underway, and even the quality of the radio are first rate. My only niggling complaint is that the cover for the passenger air bag rattles, & Im sure this will be an easy fix for the dealer when I go in for the first oil-filter change.

  • I Love My New Aveo - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo

I love my new Aveo. ItÂ’s comfortable, large, rides good, is quite, and the gas mileage is great.

  • Great Commuter Auto - 2005 Chevrolet Aveo

I have owned the Aveo for several months. My city gasoline consumption is 29.3mpg. No mechanical problems so far. I paid a bit over $11K. The radio/CD is OK, but not great. Handling is quick at less than 45mph but a touch vague at freeway speeds. I purchased this auto because it was inexpensive. I also looked at the VW Golf Diesel and Honda Civic Hybrid. The Aveo provides many of the same features for $10K less...and that, in my mind, makes up for the lower fuel economy.

We purchased this car to run around town as it is small and gets good gas mileage. So far I have approx 1800 miles on it and figure i get 34 miles to the gallon (combined city and freeway driving). Didnt need all the extras so we bought the econo package. I LOVE my little "Orange Blossom" (got the orange one. I think it is a neat little car and it handles just great NO PROBLEM finding parking spaces. So far, I have found no faults with the car. Big bang for the bucks!!!!!!!!!
