  • Fantastic little car! - 2004 Chevrolet Aveo

Purchased my black hatchback about a month ago, and I still look forward to driving it! Handles beautifully, love the Euro styling, and its suprisingly quick! I find myself going over the speed limit all the time! The great mileage doesnt hurt either!

The only thing I did was I took off the kumo tires and put on Bridgestone Turunza LST. Made all the difference in the world rides great handles GREAT IN WET ROAD CONDITIONS. And very peppy 1.6 duel ohc 16 valve engine. A very quite cabin. I love it.

  • Transmission Issues - 2004 Chevrolet Aveo
    By -

The car drove great for a few years and then the transmission went out. It got a clog in the fluid so when I checked on the fluid it was always full. Also there is no literature on the vehicle, no Chilton guide, no info on the transmition type, nothing.

  • Very Good Compact! - 2004 Chevrolet Aveo

I own two of these cars, an 07 sedan and a 04 five door. I have been very impressed with the handling and ride quality of the 04. With some adroit shifting I have been able to achieve 32 mpg city/highway. I have had no problem traveling up a good sized incline in 5th gear.(altough many reveiwers say this is not possible). Altough the shifting may not be as percise as some of its Japanese counterparts, I personely perfer the longer shifter stalk in the Aveo. Altogether a very good subcompact.

  • Its my Metro upgrade - 2004 Chevrolet Aveo

People who ride in my backseat always comment on the roominess of the car. I would still be buying Geo Metros if they were available, as I got accustomed to 50 mpg. For a trade off, I am very happy with the Aveo.

  • its a keeper - 2004 Chevrolet Aveo

  • Its a great car for someones first car - 2004 Chevrolet Aveo

I really liked the car, I bought mine used with around 4k miles on it, and yet the car still felt brand new. My car came with a wide body kit that really set the car off. I like the kit and the car because theres noone out there that has a car that even looks close to as good as mine, and, the car came with 19 inch 5 spoke motegi rims that were custom painted white, and, after I bought the car I put in a custom stereo because I felt that the stereo in the Aveo didnt do any justice since theres absalutely no bass in the stereo, so i put in a set of 2 tens, 2 6x9s and a 750 watt jensen amp. My only complaint about the car is I wish it had a lot more power!

I absolutely love my car. It is extremely economical. The only downfall is wind noise inside.

  • 130MPH!! - 2004 Chevrolet Aveo
    By -

I bought my Aveo on the nite of 7/25 and about 2hrs later I figured I would "see where the fuel cutoff engages", well to mine and my friends suprise, there is no limiter, I stretched 4th gear out to 5500rpm and shifted to 5th, slowly climbing all the way past the 120mph speedometer it hit the odometer peg (124-125?) at 5400rpm in 5th and proceeded to pull upto 5700rpm, I figure we gained another 5-6mph. So, on a more "polliticaly correct" note, the engine in this car is straight from the Daewoo Kalos (along with the rest of the car) and its a proven reliable engine... it was in the Daewoo Lanos and Nubira back in 98- 99 and its been a good reliable motor
