This Year's Model Updates:

A regular-wheelbase 760i model has been added to complement the long-wheelbase 760Li -- it features all the power and amenities of the top-line model in a more manageable size. The 745i and 745Li models are freshened with new alloy wheels, and are available with all-season run-flat tires as a no-charge option. All 7 Series models can add adaptive headlights as an option, and Sirius Satellite Radio as a dealer-installed accessory. BMW has made revisions to the iDrive control system to simplify various functions, and the automatic climate control system now has a humidity sensor. Finally, the outside mirrors get a power-fold function this year.

Pros:
  • Superb driving dynamics, highly advanced technology, dizzying array of features, sumptuous furnishings.
Cons:
  • Toys can be distracting from the task at hand, confusing secondary controls, odd styling details.

The BMW 754i gives an exhilerating sporty sensation while giving you the comfort of a large sedan.

  • I love it so far - 2004 BMW 7-Series

It may be too early to comment, however I recently purchased this BMW, my first. Previously I was a Lexus man, and in my household we currently own 3 Lexus cars. I say all this to say that I like this car. It is more of a fun driving vehicle than any of my other cars. I feel more confident at high speeds and maneuvers. I have seen complaints about the Idrive. I have had no problems. Of course like anything new one needs to become aquatinted with new concepts, but it was not difficult and I enjoy what it allows me to do.

I love the car, however I find getting use to the start/stop buttom takes some re-training. The same goes for the gear shift when going to park from drive or rev. Some people say the idrive is a problem. I am not what one would call a computer savvy person(61yrs. old) and have not had any problems working with it. Last week I picked up a friend from out of town after being in the car for 45min. he turn to me and said" this is the best riding car I have ever been in",(he is 59 yrs. old and I am sure he has been in a lot of cars). Needless to say I had a smile bigger then the happy face symbol on my face.

  • The "quarter to eight" tops all !! - 2004 BMW 7-Series

Before I purchased the 745li BMW - I would catch myself staring at it at every dealership, as it cruised by in the freeway, or on bmws website. I saw nothing on the road like it! Everything is is comparable - but when you see the 745 on the road - theres no mistaking it for something else. I could only imagine that all those that stare at my car are thinking the same thing as I ride pass them. The only complaint I have is that no one can keep their eyes off this vehicle.

  • Weve got 2 and love them both - 2004 BMW 7-Series

Weve got two 745Lis loaded with every available option except the sport package and adaptive ride package. Car is absolutely amazing - definetely worth the $90K each of them were. Absolutely fantastic cars that look and handle great - iDrive is very easy, even for my computer illiterate grandparents. If youre going to spend the $$, this is the car!

  • No Morre Mercedes - 2004 BMW 7-Series

I did not want a BMW it was a "honey do" thing, my wife wanted one. Now there is another reason for the "I told you sos" I love the car, love the feel, love the perfomance....it is a great car. I went from a Mercedes S500....and will never look back.

  • Love the new 7 - 2004 BMW 7-Series

The 745 came with a lot of baggage....so called experts criticizing the new look, the i-drive, the complexity, etc. The proof is in hte pudding, as they say.....BMW has sold more 7 series cars in the US since they came out with the 745 than ever before and now sell more cars than Mercedes in the US. I love the new look of the 7. It is distinctive, masculine and the wave of thefuture. The Mercedes S Class looks not much different from the Lexus or Acuras of the world. Well done BMW. The 745Li runs smoother, corners better, hugs the road firmer, accelerates faster and generally outperforms all cars in the luxury sedan class.

  • Best 7 Yet! - 2004 BMW 7-Series

Our fourth 7-Series, this car far exceeds past models in performance, comfort and convenience. Of particular note is the Dynamic Stability Control, which enables the car to take curves at speed with absolutely no noticeable body lean. BMWs philosophy of eliminating excess buttons and permitting the driver to concentrate on driving is well carried out via an excellent voice activation system and the intuitive, albeit controversial, iDrive controller. Extraordinarily adjustable heated, ventilated, massaging seats, the height of comfort, alleviate the stress of driving while simultaneously stimulating the driver to prevent driving fatigue. The Logic7 audio system is superb.

  • My Best Vehicle Ever - 2004 BMW 7-Series

My 2003 BMW 745Li Sport Sedan is a very special car. The new 7 series has met a lot of criticism and I wish to speak up. The comments and abuse about the i- drive is a lot of hype and I do not see it. The i-drive makes it very easy to control the day to day functions of the vehicle. The portable phone has the ability to scroll through the entire address book to retrieve a number and you simply tap the mouse to dial out. My car is in Jet Black with the pearl grey sport interior and all blacked out trim. I regularly have people looking at the car wondering what it is. It has a very aggressive yet subdued appearance.
