This Year's Model Updates:

A regular-wheelbase 760i model has been added to complement the long-wheelbase 760Li -- it features all the power and amenities of the top-line model in a more manageable size. The 745i and 745Li models are freshened with new alloy wheels, and are available with all-season run-flat tires as a no-charge option. All 7 Series models can add adaptive headlights as an option, and Sirius Satellite Radio as a dealer-installed accessory. BMW has made revisions to the iDrive control system to simplify various functions, and the automatic climate control system now has a humidity sensor. Finally, the outside mirrors get a power-fold function this year.

Pros:
  • Superb driving dynamics, highly advanced technology, dizzying array of features, sumptuous furnishings.
Cons:
  • Toys can be distracting from the task at hand, confusing secondary controls, odd styling details.

  • I love this car - 2004 BMW 7-Series

When my lease on my Mercedes S430 expired I wasnt sure on whether or not to get another one. I drove the 745Li and fell in love. It handles like a dream and extremely powerful. But I cannot compare the comfort to anything I have ever sat in before. I got the comfort seating package and I almost want to sleep in this car.

  • Best In Class - 2004 BMW 7-Series

After driving all the contenders, including the Jag XJ, Audi A8, LS430 and of course the Merc S, nothing makes as strong a statement as this one. Unbeatable drive and handling, smooth, beautiful, kicks the hell out of anything in its league. Only qualms are there are still some electronic glitches

  • Love it! - 2004 BMW 7-Series

This car is unbelievable! There is a lot happening with the car, but if you have the BMW Client Advisor teach you, you can learn how to use the I-Drive. Lots of leg room. I am 60" tall, and my husband is 65" and "big".Passenger room is great. The trunk is huge. Getting the sport package was a great choice. I am getting the best gas mileage.Overall...I really enjoy this car. My only complaint is that the paint stains (by dead bugs)and scratches too easily. If you can, take European delivery of your car (its awesome). My car coming from Germany was some added fun.

  • Luxury Learning Curve - 2004 BMW 7-Series
    By -

After driving Mercedes since 1985, I finally bought my first beamer. The 745i has great looks, handling, acceleration, finish... all youd expect from a luxury sports sedan. However, why does the cars design require acknowledgment/cancellation of a disclaimer every time I start it? How many times does it take to push a button for "Park" instead of mistakingly "shifting" into reverse? How many times does it take to stop turning on the the windshield wipers when I really want to shift into reverse? Perhaps this car is really not for me -- there IS a learning curve -- and all I wanted to do is enjoy driving it.

EXCEPT FOR SOME QUIRKY PROBLEMS, THE CAR IS JUST ABOUT PERFECT. RESPONSIVE, AND SMOOTH, VERY COMFORTABLE

  • Xanadu of performance and comfort - 2004 BMW 7-Series

First BMW and it lives up to the brand id of Ultimate Driving Machine. The thing is a delight to drive, and to ride in. Very comfortable. Technology is over the top, but very manageable, and I look forward to the improvements there (e.g. touch screen, easier to see graphics with polarized sunglasses, etc.). Havent driven the Audi, but this thing beats the Mercedes and Lexus hands down.

  • Classy Drive - 2004 BMW 7-Series

Weve driven Jags, Audis, Cadillacs, and of all luxury cars, this has to be the best. The car isolates you from the roadway and road noise. Response is immediate. Blending into traffic is fun, even with those crazy drivers that are bound and determined not to let you get in front of them.
