This Year's Model Updates:

The big news for 2003 is the late-fall arrival of the 760Li, which combines all the greatness of the 745 while adding a 6.0-liter V12. BMW has not released U.S. output ratings, but European specs have it at 408 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. The more interesting aspect of the 760Li is that it's the first BMW with direct gasoline injection, which, in combination with the Valvetronic technology already used in the 745 models, allows for stellar performance, and according to BMW, "outstanding fuel economy." We'll wait and see on that one. In other news, all models get rear head-protection airbags, and Active Cruise Control finally makes it to the options list, along with run-flat tires. The Rear Comfort Seat package for the 745Li now includes rear-seat ventilation.

Pros:
  • Superb driving dynamics, highly advanced technology, dizzying array of features, sumptuous furnishings.
Cons:
  • Toys can be distracting from the task at hand, confusing secondary controls, odd styling details.

  • worst car I have ever owned - 2003 BMW 7-Series

The 745 is the biggest car buying mistake I have ever made. The car was released before the technology was perfected. After being stranded several times, I got rid of it. A 70K plus car should not be hooked up to a two truck several times. I know many others that have expereinced similar problems. Moreover, BMW and the dealership would not stand behind the automobile. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER BMW. ANYONE THAT BUYS THIS CAR IS TAKING A HUGE RISK!!!!

With out a doubt BMW took a chance and put all the technology available into one car. The result is a formidable driving machine. The problem with taking these kinds of technological leaps is who is going to fix it if there is a problem. We have owned the car one month and have had the second system failure in the car. The first problem was with the dynamic drive system. The dealer was very accomodating but it took a week to diagnose the problem and get the right parts. Now we have our second repair in one month. If we have anymore difficulties with this car I will return it under the Lemon Law.

Fantastic response.combined with the luxury comforts give the 745Li the feel of a race car yet the eye turning impression of a truly one of a kind machine. You feel proud and strong in this car. This is my 6th BMW and it is the best .It does all that the mfg claims and more ..Fantastic!!!

  • 4 Months and Still Happy - 2003 BMW 7-Series

Ive now owned my 2003 745Li for four months, and I couldnt be happier. The car performs like a dream. Ever want to go 70 miles an hour around a 45 degree curve with minimal body roll? This is the car for you (and me). The handling is superb. The shear exhilaration from 0 to whatever speed is indescribable. Who knew they could improve upon the prior model? They’ve done it. It is the best car I have ever owned.

  • Awsome Drive - 2003 BMW 7-Series

The car car is awsome to drive. My son took for a ride and his comments were that my MB E Class is like plywood on wheels as compare to this car. The only problem with this car is a few software glitches which are easily fixable but sometimes are annoying. The idrive is fun to use which easy to master in a short period of time.

For all thoose that dont like the I- Drive use it over time it becomes very user friendly. As for the looks it is much better looking in person then in pictures. It is the best looking car on the road. The bad the car lurches at stops. Has a horrible shimmy from 45-60 and the computer somtimes has a mind of its own. BMW should have tested the car before sending it out on the street.

  • Improvement to BMWs great name! - 2003 BMW 7-Series

This car is one of the best autos built. Its 325 Valvetronic V8 is very advanced. IDrive, people complain about iDrive, dont listen, these people get in the car not knowing what there doing and they get frustrated and complain it is to hard to use. Think, if you are driving on the street and you are looking down and looking at the screen trying to find something, well then of course it is going to be a distraction but if you know what youre doing than its a snap. Saftey, 10 airbags, the most airbags. Also the tecnology, look at the transmition, FIRST auto. 6 speed. If you like an all around gerat car, this is the car to get!
