Overview & Reviews
The big news for 2003 is the late-fall arrival of the 760Li, which combines all the greatness of the 745 while adding a 6.0-liter V12. BMW has not released U.S. output ratings, but European specs have it at 408 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. The more interesting aspect of the 760Li is that it's the first BMW with direct gasoline injection, which, in combination with the Valvetronic technology already used in the 745 models, allows for stellar performance, and according to BMW, "outstanding fuel economy." We'll wait and see on that one. In other news, all models get rear head-protection airbags, and Active Cruise Control finally makes it to the options list, along with run-flat tires. The Rear Comfort Seat package for the 745Li now includes rear-seat ventilation.
- Superb driving dynamics, highly advanced technology, dizzying array of features, sumptuous furnishings.
- Toys can be distracting from the task at hand, confusing secondary controls, odd styling details.

My first BMW in 15 years - 2003 BMW 7-Series
By Marty Freifeld - May 23 - 2:00 amI like top of the line large German sedans. For the part 15 years I have driven Mercedes and Audi. I wanted a car with performance, handling , and luxery that mede a statement - and was at the leading edge of design. This BMW fit the bill - no longer is it behind the big Mercedes in solidity, performance, and was ALWAYS ahead in handling. I love this car.

what happen to the gear shift? - 2003 BMW 7-Series
By DR. TOOTH - May 21 - 2:00 am745LI ABSOLUTELY DRIVE LIKE A DREAM, THE CAR IS SO RESPONSIVE CONSIDER ITS SIZE. BUT MOUNTING THE GEAR SHIFT BEHIND THE STERRING WHEEL IS WHAT REMINDED ME MY MOTHERS OLD OLDSMOBLE. AND FOR A BMW WITHOUT THE ABILITY OF UPSHIFT IS NOT A TRUE BMW.

Better than I expected - 2003 BMW 7-Series
By hgopad - May 10 - 2:00 amThe new 745i Sport is amazing. Yes, the idrive takes a few trial and error experiences, but the basics like radio,cd,phone, navigator, etc. are all quite easy to use. There are so many additional things to do with it that you can continue learning some every day, if you wish. The performance, handling and comfort could not be better. I had a 740i Sport before and thought it was the best, and this has surpassed it by quite a bit. Not only is it impressive to drive, its the most interesting and engaging car Ive ever found.

The best - 2003 BMW 7-Series
By PalmBeach - May 5 - 2:00 amIf youre having trouble with the 7 series you didnt get the right, I can see none of you got the AMAZING 760. The 760 is much much better than the 745. I have had no problems. The unique styling seems quite refreshing. I love the interior. The amazingly soft leather seats and the lusterous polished wood. Its amazing.

Great Car - 2003 BMW 7-Series
By Jeffcr7 - May 5 - 2:00 amI think this is a great car. Those who have whined about the iDrive in the reviews, either do not actually own the car or have never used a computer. The ride is great, comfortable seats, excellent build quality etc. This is my 2nd BMW.

By Capcityman - May 1 - 2:00 amThe software revisions and minor glitches (like a KM spedo) were annoying but after those early problems, the car has been carefree/

BMWs Flagship Sedan - 2003 BMW 7-Series
By The Real BMW - April 25 - 2:00 amThis car is the best I have ever had! I have recently had a Mercedes-Benz S500 and personally I think the 7 has much more in luxury and performance. This really is the best!
