This Year's Model Updates:

The big news for 2003 is the late-fall arrival of the 760Li, which combines all the greatness of the 745 while adding a 6.0-liter V12. BMW has not released U.S. output ratings, but European specs have it at 408 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. The more interesting aspect of the 760Li is that it's the first BMW with direct gasoline injection, which, in combination with the Valvetronic technology already used in the 745 models, allows for stellar performance, and according to BMW, "outstanding fuel economy." We'll wait and see on that one. In other news, all models get rear head-protection airbags, and Active Cruise Control finally makes it to the options list, along with run-flat tires. The Rear Comfort Seat package for the 745Li now includes rear-seat ventilation.

Pros:
  • Superb driving dynamics, highly advanced technology, dizzying array of features, sumptuous furnishings.
Cons:
  • Toys can be distracting from the task at hand, confusing secondary controls, odd styling details.

  • BMW IS IN TROUBLE WITH THE 7 SERIES - 2003 BMW 7-Series

Edmunds wont print this do to advertising,,however for the heck of it. BMW 2002 and 2003 7 is an absolute disaster. Every single day on drive to work, something else electrically is broken. Forget about the so called I - Drive difficulty, you cant read it anyway due to the video screen showing blank XXXXXXs and OOOOOs. This entire car needs to be totally scrapped and redone very quick. BMW will not listen,,,until they begin to tank over this piece of $70,000 junk. Dealer has been great, and received very little help from Germany. This is horrendous.

BMW needs to get their act together. This is an electronic nightmare and BMW national is not accountable. Maybe the last BMW 7 series that I will own, after six. Confusing, non- intutive, technological stupidity with absurdly complicated difficulty in using the GPS (the worst). Get park distance control or you will bunk into walls when backing up. Test ride car, vision problem for short people.

  • Worst car EVER! - 2003 BMW 7-Series

This is my 5th BMW and my last! The car is in the shop all the time. The company will not even try to help. The interior design is all wrong. The idrive is the worst crap ever. They need to put the shifter back where it belongs. If they wanted the idrive to work they should make it a touch screen. Lexus has a better system. I have never sat in such uncomfortable seats in all of my life. Racing cars have a more comfortable seats. There is nothing good to say about this car. I know 34 people with this car only 3 like it, 2 can stand it, and the rest HATE it like me! This BMW is not a car to walk away from, RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dont do it. Dont do it. Dont do it. Dont do it. Germany leaves USA dealerships completely in the cold. My dealership tried like hell to fix this car nearly 1 week per month 4 months. FREAKING IMPOSSIBLE TO WORK ON OR FIX THIS NEW BMW. SOFTWARE IS AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. Any adjustment to the seats,,automatically shoots the headrests to highest electric position. GLITCHES GALORE. KEYFOBS GO DEAD. SCREEN GOES TOTALLY DEAD. RADIO Will NOT SHUTOFF,EVEN WITH NO KEY IN IGNITION. AUTO TRUNK MOTOR BURNT OUT TWICE!! 15,000 MILES AND AN UTTER HUNK OF JUNK. USA DEALER was great however. BMW absolutely has to scrap this LEMON.
