This Year's Model Updates:

A six-speed SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox) transmission is now optional on select 3 Series models, while a five-speed Steptronic automatic is now offered with the 330i Performance Package. Rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights and hands-free wireless cell phone capability are now standard features on the sedan and wagon. There are new alloy wheel designs for the 325i, 325xi and 330xi Sport Package. All 330i sedans get a revised grille -- a new black grille instead of silver, with a lower grille combination of body color and black. All 3 Series coupes and convertibles receive a revised front fascia, plus new front and rear bumper contours, Adaptive headlamps and taillights and new designs for both the standard and optional wheels. Interior changes are limited to a revised climate control panel. Finally, Sirius Satellite Radio is now available as an accessory on all 3 Series models.

Pros:
  • Available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
  • Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners
Cons:
  • Pricey for its market segment, limited rear-seat space and cargo capacity.

i want a car just like that so when you need it the most you can crank your sterio and put down the top and let all your stress fly throught the air and hope it dosent catch back up with you. the wind in you face is so refreshing and it just helps you relax, so when ever i get in a car like that i know i will feel secure and i hope i will have no worries in the car of my dreams!!! the end!! that is my dream car!!!

This car is really so well thought out and put together that it invariably flatters you as a driver. Handling is excellent, and safety features have been a life saver for me (I recently had to avoid a car in front of me on a freeway who locked up his wheels at 75mph+). You can just hope you never need to find out how good DSC actually is! Aside from that, the car is a joy to drive. Unlike the majority of cars (and dreadful SUVs/trucks) this car goes where you point it.

  • Watch front differential - 2004 BMW 3-Series

Front differential went out at 40,000, no driver negligence. Stalled on a cold night. Shouldnt happen to a bimmer. Dealer ok, manufacturer hard to deal with on car rental for one day, well I was less than 100 miles from home, clerk takes no consideration of driver age, weather, time of day, passed rental cost back to Moses who paid, will not let owner talk to an engineer, to defensive about being sued, which, if someone is killed by this on a busy freeway, they will be.

i bought the 330ci convertible (2003) on its reputation for performance. i have a five speed manual-shifting couldnt be better-i can pass just about any other car.BUT THE SEAT IS THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE EXPERIENCE!! i did not get the sport package because my dealer said it would stiffen the ride but i understand those seats can be extended. i am petite-only 5/4 but find the window is so low i feal my sight line has a horizontal line through it and the seat is so short under my legs that i can never be comfortable. i am trading this in AT A HUGE LOSS-WHAT HAPPENED TO BMW VALUE?-FOR THE NEW SAB 9-3 2004 CONVERTIBLE.

  • Dont get to close - 2004 BMW 3-Series

Front paint chips easier than most cars. Dealer tacked on $1K as "Total vehicle protection" on the sticker which was a total scam. Very little thought put into cup holder placement. No leg room in rear seats even for kids. Get the 330xi(T) for the performance!

  • Not for performance at all - 2004 BMW 3-Series
    By -

Ive had this car for 2500 miles now and can only say that it has the worst suspension, and drive by wire system imaginable. There is a 0.5 second delay after you hit the accelerator, and the car bounces, floats, and leans terribly regarding the suspension. The interior is nice and clean. However the performance suffers so greatly, I am going to have to upgrade both the suspension and software to make it livable. I thought it was the break in period, but alas, its made this way. Not recommended for anyone that owned a previous (E36 model years) BMW. The XI version drives more like an SUV than a sedan. For the money, its not worth it.

  • qa problems - 2004 BMW 3-Series
    By -

purchased and waited 2 months, the car was in for door and window problems 4 times within 2400 miles, bmw headquaters says that windows are adjusted in germany separetly, just an other way to say qa/qc is a problem previous owner of 5 and 7 series, the car is a gas to drive but seats not as good as on aforementioned net net, surprised at poor qa/qc and dealer, if this continues, the rep they had is going to nose dive

All I can say is, expect to pay twice what you pay monthly for maintenance and repairs.
