A six-speed SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox) transmission is now optional on select 3 Series models, while a five-speed Steptronic automatic is now offered with the 330i Performance Package. Rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights and hands-free wireless cell phone capability are now standard features on the sedan and wagon. There are new alloy wheel designs for the 325i, 325xi and 330xi Sport Package. All 330i sedans get a revised grille -- a new black grille instead of silver, with a lower grille combination of body color and black. All 3 Series coupes and convertibles receive a revised front fascia, plus new front and rear bumper contours, Adaptive headlamps and taillights and new designs for both the standard and optional wheels. Interior changes are limited to a revised climate control panel. Finally, Sirius Satellite Radio is now available as an accessory on all 3 Series models.

Sophisticated Fun - 2004 BMW 3-Series
By A.M.S. Jr. - July 25 - 10:00 amThe BMW exudes understated class. Everything about the car is tastefull. The style is classic and will still look good in 5 years. Driving is thoroughly satisfying. The cars handling is precise with plenty of power around town and also on the highway. The car is solid. Build quality, fit and finnish are first rate. Dealership experience was enjoyable and service was their top priority.

fun drive but............ - 2004 BMW 3-Series
By tiago - July 19 - 10:00 amgreat car to drive but my car has been in the shop for the last 5 days they dont know what is wrong with the engine and cant seem to fix the vibration in the steering wheel, the sport steering wheel was not even centered when i bought it.I have 8000 miles and they also just replaced the radio???? this is my first bmw and dont know if i would buy another. Air noise is terrible. you would think the windows are down. problems with this car since day 1

Great Car ... - 2004 BMW 3-Series
By rega - May 6 - 10:00 amLove the car and the way it handles. Love the exterior. Interior nice, needs more storage area. I also had the transmission problem. I took mine into the dealer after noticing the problem, and a replacement was ordered right away and installed within weeks. The dealer handled it very well. Its just a shame that one pays so much money for a car and then finds out within the first few miles that the transmission must be replaced. And yes, BMW has not issued a formal recall as of yet (dont know why). But I have heard the issue is resolved as of 12/03, and they certainly fixed mine and stood behind the car.

PERSONALY TOOK IT UP TO 148MPH. GREAT !! - 2004 BMW 3-Series
By BROKERN1 - March 13 - 10:00 amI bought this car last april for my wife as she graduated with honors. It is electric red and natural brown and every possible option in it. What a head turner. So far I have almost 4,000 miles on it w/out any problem except one !!! I cant stay away from this car. Every time I need to go somewhere I constantly ask my wife to give me the keys to the bimmer. It is so much fun to drive. I personally have a Lexus GS430 and yes I do agree that I have much more power but who needs it - - if it comes w/out handling. This car has been personally engineered for anybody who is a control freak at speeds about 130 miles per hour. I have driven it at 148 mph - nic

Skips delighted - 2004 BMW 3-Series
By Skip - January 4 - 2:00 amIm reporting on a 2002 BMW 330ci convertible, that now has 20,000 miles on it. This car has made two round trips to Florida, and is about to embark on a 3rd. It is the finest car that I have ever owned, and the most fun to drive. I have experienced very few problems with the car, and Fields BMW in Northbrook, IL corrected all of those promptly. My next car will unquestionably be a BMW.
