Overview & Reviews
BMW has seen fit to give the sedans and wagons a facelift for 2002. An in-dash CD player finally makes it onto the standard features list. The center stack has been altered to accommodate the new automatic climate controls. Steptronic automanual operation has been altered so that you move the transmission lever forward for downshifts and backward for upshifts. Bi-xenon headlamps are on the options list so that both low and high beams can glow a cold blue and can be set to automatic operation. Rear side airbags are available for coupes and convertibles. Two new colors, Electric Red and Gray Green (and a Natural Brown interior leather) join the color spectrum.
- Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
- Pricey for their market segment, limited rear-seat space and cargo capacity.

Cruising on the East Coast - 2002 BMW 3-Series
By lilyfirecracker - July 20 - 10:00 amMy previous experience with BMW was through my 99 323i 4-door sedan. While I was ecstatic with the cars style and overall performance, winter driving was obscene. In my search for a new, front wheel or all-wheel drive, vehicle I learned of BMWs new AWD sedans. While I regret not getting the sport package (the seats are simply not comfortable for long drives), I couldnt be more delighted with the Premium and Cold Weather packages and Harmon Kardon sound system, all of which include invaluable options. The car drives like a dream, holding the road in the most severe snow storms. I recommend this car to everyone!

great car except... - 2002 BMW 3-Series
By recruitsvc - July 14 - 7:53 pmMy first BMW - it has gotten better to drive with age as I have really appreciated the engine acceleration, the handling, the surety of the AWD system. The seats are comfortable and the controls designed to keep your hands on the wheel. What I miss is the console - only a small arm rest with little storage, two cup holders, and a flip up storage area - I end up piling my stuff on the passenger seat, which becomes a pain when someone gets in the car with me - would love more storage space somehow.

Sweet Ride - 2002 BMW 3-Series
By Cliff3 - July 13 - 10:00 amMy car is optioned with SP, XN, 72M, PDC, ette, 5 spd. Ive had the car for 2 months and 3000 miles now. It has plenty of practical power, possesses excellent handling characteristics, and powerful brakes. I took it on a 1500 mile road trip shortly after taking delivery and the car was a delight to drive. No mechanical or cosmetic problems to report other than the usual sticky gas pedal in hot weather. This is a warranty item that Ill have fixed at some point. The HK stereo is fine, but then I dont overboost the bass (the opposite, in fact). The worst thing about the car is it is unhappy going less than 100 miles per hour.

Bayerische Motoren Werke at its best - 2002 BMW 3-Series
By bmwisfast - July 10 - 4:46 amWhat really made me buy the 330i is the power. I purchased the 2002 simply because I like the front façade. For 2002, front lights mimic the kidney grill and give it a really smooth look. Details: silver w/ black int, sport and premium pkg, Xnon, and auto. I LoVE the Auto-Transmission. Right off the line, the car redlines and catapults you ahead. You really get a broadband power and torque at any speed; oh, you have to turn off the traction control and cornering brake control for this to happen

Solid Fun - 2002 BMW 3-Series
By Wolf - June 23 - 8:55 pmI purchased this car in March, 2005, CPO. At first I thought the car felt too heavy but now, Im impressed with how solid it is. Nothing fazes this car. It goes, stops and corners at your command regardless of weather or road conditions. Now I know why BMW garners so much praise from the press and devotees. I have had one unscheduled service for a faulty sensor that was covered under the CPO warranty.

love it - 2002 BMW 3-Series
By GSR - June 15 - 10:00 amI have owned several BMWs, this is by far the best. Im 6-4" and this is one of the few sports cars I can ride comfortably in. The performance is amazing, and I make lots of extra trips just to drive the car. I have really enjoyed it. Ditto on the concern about the long interval between oil changes.

BMW 325i - 2002 BMW 3-Series
By mpt2222 - June 9 - 12:43 pmI just switched from an A4 to the 325i. I wish I would have made the move sooner. Even the base 3-series handles well, is smooth, quick enough, and has a comfortable interior (albeit small rear seat and trunk). Ill be looking to move up to the 330 for my next car.

Excellent choice - 2002 BMW 3-Series
By Jqck - May 19 - 2:00 amI switched to it from a 5-years old Mazda 626. The feel of improvement on the handling was instantaneous. Its quite a contrast. It turns my daily commute into an enjoyment. I was surprised to find how quiet it is no matter the roof is up or down.

Long time owner - 2002 BMW 3-Series
By L B - May 3 - 11:29 amIve owned my 325 do convertible for more than 10 years and Ive kept up with the maintenance. Ive rarely had to make repairs on the car. As Ive gotten older its hard to get in and out of, but other than that, its been the best car ever!
