Overview & Reviews
For 2003, all TL models equipped with the navigation system receive OnStar as standard equipment.
- Excellent value, comfortable front seats, impressive power from the Type-S engine, long list of standard equipment.
- Average interior materials, lacks the panache of some competing luxury sedans.

6 month review - 2003 Acura TL
By Twenty03 Type-S - September 13 - 2:00 amIve had my Type-S for 6 months. Overall the car is still a great value. However, the squeaks I keep hearing in the interior are driving me crazy - from the seats, seat-belt buckets and dash. And, of course, the dealership "cannot duplicate the problems." Quick car for its size and weight. It would be much more fun, though, if it had RWD instead of FWD.

so far so good - 2003 Acura TL
By knix200129 - January 29 - 10:00 amJust leased my 03 with Nav a month ago. So far I love this car. Looked at the Lexus IS300/ES300, and the Volvo S60/s80. After looking at all the goodies that came with the TL, and compared the pricing vs. the Lexus and the Volvo, it was no contest. So far this car is awesome. The passing power is great, the interior room (im 62" 260lbs) is very good, and the bose stereo ROCKS!!!! I also am leasing a Honda Odyssey w/Nav(which the wife and I LOVE!) but the stereo in the ODY is horrible. Anyhow, great car, great ride, great value, and great sound. If choosing an entry level Lux car, this is your car.

Lots of bang for your buck... - 2003 Acura TL
By roymccoy - January 6 - 10:00 amWe have had our 2003 TL-SType w/navigation for about a month and we love the car. Fast, fuel efficient and more technology inside then our airplane. (Im not kidding) Pros: Snappy, fuel efficient, technology loaded, comfy seats, big trunk, lots of storage places, could never own a car without the navigation system again! Lots for your money, nicer than my BMW 328i. Cons: Never really liked the Acura body styling, too much wind noise at freeway speeds, why cant a $35,000 car have automatic headlights? Bose sound system is just okay, air-conditioner is hard to get set just right...not enough vents in the front.

The Compromise - 2003 Acura TL
By Jim6090 - December 10 - 2:00 amWhat a compromise. I love VW Passats, but my wife wanted smooth and RELIABLE!! This baby is smooth and powerful. I bought the car as a compromise with my wife. SHE was right, I did not admit this to her. This is a GREAT car. So much car for a reasonable price. I have driven them all and this is the best!!!!!

Most "Bang for your Buck!" - 2003 Acura TL
By randalr1 - November 29 - 10:00 amThis is the second newer generation Acura TL my wife and I have owned. Both have been excellent cars. The engine is outstanding and very smooth. We have owned several cars at this pricepoint and the Acura blows them all away. You get the features in a 35k - 40k car while paying 30k or less. Plus you get a great warranty 4yrs, 50k.

Not bad - 2003 Acura TL
By ninja - September 4 - 2:00 amAlready 22000mi after 1 year. Overall very happy with the car (chosen over G35), except for a few things. Still like the simple good looks. Finally used to the "harsher" ride of a "sports" car (always check the tire pressure!). Still adjusting to the split-second shifting lag (even in manual shift mode), having had a manual trans just prior. Regret not getting the NAV.

A very well kept sedan - 2003 Acura TL
By Dan - August 17 - 4:40 amCar is overall in great condition, but transmission is shaky and fuel economy is below average. Ive taken car in for service and had taken all preventive measures in boosting fuel economy but only time will tell.

Acura Confidence - 2003 Acura TL
By aspatc - June 11 - 2:00 amMy husband and I bought this car just 5 months ago. We previously had an Integra which I bought just out of college. My husband has a nasty commute and the Integra was "just too small" for him. Hes 63" about 240lbs. I finally conceded to the new car and we traded the Integra for the TL. He loves it and I enjoy driving it when hes not around. Our Integra was just about 5 years old and had almost 100,000 miles on it. We never had any work done outside of the scheduled maintenence. So far the TL is living up to the reliability standards of the Integra and my husband really appreciates the headroom.
