Poor Mans BMW 530i - 2003 Acura TL
By Joe - June 19 - 10:00 amGreat value, performance near 530i at 60% the price. Con: More squeeks and rattles that I would expect from Acura.

Acura 3.2 TL Type S - 2003 Acura TL
By banksign - March 31 - 10:00 amTruly a fine automobile. Quiet, comfortable interior. It has power to spare; step on the accelerator and the engine jumps to life. Fun to drive, Bose music system is always a plus. Lots of standard features for a reasonable price.

Excellent Choice - 2003 Acura TL
By bigragu - February 25 - 12:33 pmI made the purchase after looking at Accord and Maxima. Someone told me to check out TL. I drove the Type-S and purchased it immediately. I very reliable car. Would purchase again in a second.Took to dealer for oil change, they noticed the tranny recall, gave me a loaner, and was all completed painlessly in a day.

Overall a Good Deal - 2003 Acura TL
By David - February 18 - 2:07 amIll be returning this car in a few days after 70,000+ miles. I enjoyed it very much. A few problems which were unexpected for a Honda product. Rearview mirror fell off in the first week. Had a wheel bearing go out within the 1st yr. And just got a new transmission due to the recall. All problems were taken care of by the dealer. Given that, I really liked the way the car drove and how comfortable it was. I needed something with a little room, especially in the rear seat and this was better than all comparable vehicles. All in all a good value. Now I have a 2005.

A good value - 2003 Acura TL
By wrx_tester - February 15 - 2:00 amCar does accelerate well but transmission kickdown in both auto and automanual is not at all smooth. RPM at 75mph is less than 2000 which helps limit engine noise. The stereo is not up to snuff vs. German brands. Build quality esp. around the bumpers was questionable. Give them a push and they might fall off. Could use 7" wheels instead of 6.5".

Feel good about 03 TL - 2003 Acura TL
By Stardom2k2 - December 30 - 10:00 amJust got a blk/blk 03TL plain for ~$28.2k/5.99%/60Mo, after taxes 30k exactly. IT IS A GLORIFIED ACCORD but thats good! I like it. I get decent pickup. Handling is firm. 1st and 2nd in autostick is useless, so save it to change lanes. I just leave it in fullauto. Fit is tight, no excessive noise. Exterior is decent but the 16" needs an upgrade. (I think the S has 17s) Many do-dads. I bought it because I think its reliable, a good ride, good resale, decent service, and decent looks. I somewhat regret not getting the TypeS but I still like the base TL. Its near-luxury!

Buy something German for the same Money - 2003 Acura TL
By Chris C - July 31 - 2:00 amThis 2003 ACURA TL-S has the road handling of a fat lady on ice skates and the stopping power of a fully loaded school bus. Whos idea was it to put 260 HP on a Honda Accord? The car is truly dangerous! I feel like IM in an un-guided rocket. After coming from the BMW family, the Acura TL-S is quite disappointing. I wish I didnt drive this car everyday! Only 2 more years left on the lease and IM counting down the days!

Typcially Excellent if uninspiring - 2003 Acura TL
By Joersc - June 24 - 2:00 amGas mileage is poor, averaging 15-16 MPG in city driving. Ergonomics are good unless you are over 62" when front seat headroom becomes prime real estate. Seats are firm but unsupportive - downright uncomfortable on long hauls and persistent squeaking in both front seats. Sound system is nice on paper (6 disc CD changer in dash a real plus) but 4 speakers with a so-called "sub-woofer" is PUNY. Cannot upgrade without changin whole system - speakers are 1 ohm and aftermarket speaks are not compatible. Marvelously capable, but the FUN FACTOR is missing completely.

Its a nice car, but.......... - 2003 Acura TL
By honda tech - April 17 - 2:00 amim overall happy with the car, but found out one bad thing after purchasing the car. found out that some of them were leaking oil from the block. it is not a recall, and the customers are not informed about it. acuras fix for the leaking block is JB weld. this is very disappointing. if i were to find out mine were leaking oil, i would drive it till it ran out of oil. i would let the motor seize up so acura would have to warranty the whole motor.
