  • Love this car - 2002 Acura RSX

I have a 2002 RSX Type-S with 150,000kms (90,000miles)here in Canada and a daily 2002 base Canadian RSX ( no Sunroof, , no leather, 15 inch steelies. Mine Type-S has an aftermarket Greddy turbo kit, coilovers, and 19 inch wheels. Its been fairly reliable. The engine has taken the boost well. It handles great and looks good and the seats hug you though are a bit firm. Id highly recommend it.

  • Awsome Vehicle - 2002 Acura RSX

Ive owned two 02 ACura RSXs Premium. Bottom line is that they are very reliable. They will last a long time before they break. But like any car once they break they will cost a small fortune. Most aftermarket retailers do not carry the parts that usually break on this car. This means you must go to the the dealer to get the part, which can be hole in your pocket. All in all, I love this car. Its very cheap on gas, it has a very attractive sporty look, its got all the goodies like: leather heated seats, heated powered mirrors, power windows and doors. I would definitely recommend this car.

  • Great Car!!! - 2002 Acura RSX

To all those who had bad experiences, suck it up! Ive owned over 20 different vehicles in the last 10 years, all used from Lexus, Audi A4, BMW 325i, 528i, Infiniti Q45, two F-150s, Oldsmobile, Acura 2.5 TL, 2 preludes, a civic with motor swap, dodge ram, and the list goes on. All had varying degrees of reliability BASED on previous care. All had maintenance concerns arise some more costly than others but you must accept that when purchasing a car. It makes me sick to see someone bashing this Acura. I havent driven mercedes yet, so until then THIS IS THE BEST HANDLING, SOLID DRIVING CAR OF ALL IVE OWNED AND DRIVEN. Im eager to drive it everywhere and i bought it with 129k. Its getting a turbo

  • Plenty of power - 2002 Acura RSX
    By -

I have the Type-S model, and it has plenty of power. Although the handling of this car is phenomenal, even given the fact that it is a front wheel drive car. The car has stood up to me well and just recently has the engine light come on but I must say it was caused by me running over a groundhog. Other than that I love this car! The 8000 rpm red line is amazing,And so is the i-VTEC system. Remember, this is the little brother of the NSX, and it will not let you down, and is simply amazing!

  • Great Engine - 2002 Acura RSX

This is probably one of the best 2.0 liter engine in the world. Even with an automatic it has enough power to move the car, and its smooth until you get close to the redline. Unfortunately, Im to big to fit under the standard sunroof. I spent about an hour in one, but finally decided it was a no go due to the lack of headroom.

  • Have car # 639 - 2002 Acura RSX
    By -

I was one of the first to buy the car in AZ. Bought the car 7/2/01. First day on the market. My only problems have been a few rattles on the top of car somewhere. Biggest problem is the Oil Filter Location. The filter is so high on the engine when removed the oil runs down the side of the engine into a pan. After the oil change if you live close by the dealership, you leak oil all the way home and into you garage it goes. Poor eng. on the manufactor part.

  • 80,000 miles never let me down - 2002 Acura RSX
    By -

Overall a great car with Honda reliability a lot of performance in the sub 25k category, Car and Drivers 10 Best list, and finished 1st place in a 5 car comparison beating wrx, neon srt etc. In a recent trip to Boston got 31mpg in mixed hwy driving. I shoved a 42 Plasma tv in the trunk while still in the box with rear seats folded down. My only gripe was had to replace oxygen sensor at 75000 miles and it was pricey.

  • Below my expectations - 2002 Acura RSX
    By -

Car is alot of fun but my passengers side window started rattling when it is part way down. This started around 8k miles. Around 10k miles, the drivers side started also. Its very annoying. I owned a Honda previously and after 8 years, no such problems. I would have expected better build quality than this. Also, some interior parts do not fit as nicely as I would expect from an Acura. I would think twice about buying this car again.

  • Well rounded - 2002 Acura RSX
    By -

I bought the base RSX manual last month and have been very satsified with the car. The RSX is a well rounded machine. It has good acceleratoin, agile handling and smooth feel from the engine. The RSX may not stand out with it appearnce but it has a sharp look to it. The inside combines a sporty look with a refined feel. The only negatives are the few blind spots and the back seat has limited head room.

  • Niggling problems spoil a great car - 2002 Acura RSX
    By -

Fun car to drive, but have had a lot of little problems. Had to have power door lock motor replaced (very expensive - out of warranty) and now the hatch will not open - no way to manually override the lock, even from the inside. Side mirrors need to be heated on a car with such poor rear visibility. Ride is rough and noisy. On the other hand, driving is fun, with perky acceleration and good handling.
