Not a bad little car - 1996 Pontiac Grand AM
By sims - November 20 - 10:00 amThis is a really nice car. The design for price is a plus. Its inexpensive and yet doesnt look like a box. With a little four cylinder engine it can really move too.

GOOD VALUE FOR THE PRICE - 1996 Pontiac Grand AM
By tonytone - August 29 - 2:00 amIve had a very good experience with my Grad Am. Bought it with 30,000 miles on board. Other neg. reviewers must have driven the car too hard. Ive enjoyed the Power, the Styling, the Reliability. Only had typical American car problems.(replace d altenator, water pump,)Interior is cheaply made, but, holds up very well to usage.

Great Car - 1996 Pontiac Grand AM
By Matt6956 - June 21 - 2:00 amThis is not only my current choice of vechicle to own, but it one of my favorites in general. I have had this car for about a year, and it has been fantastic. I have had no major problems at all, just the regular maintence issues. All recals performed and the car runs great!

The Things We Would Do Differently - 1996 Pontiac Grand AM
By KDidles - May 13 - 10:00 amIve owned this car since January of 1997. The car has had chronic electrical problems for the past eight years. The power windows stopped working in March of 1998 and rather than fixing the problem, the dealership let the problem remain until after the car was out of warranty then stated "oh, your windows dont work." We have gone through 4 factory radios all of which were replaced for free because they were defective. The car has also had chronic water pump problems. What would I have done differently? Never bought this car. This vehicle invokes a love/hate relationship but it seems as if the hate part is a lot stronger

used to love this car! - 1996 Pontiac Grand AM
By disppointed - February 27 - 2:00 amThis was a great car until it turned over 75,000 miles. Have had some very expensive repairs in the past few months (EGR, fuel injection system) and at 80,000 miles it just doesnt drive so well anymore. I am going to sell it ASAP before it costs me anymore money!

Minor problems.. - 1996 Pontiac Grand AM
By bond7 - February 7 - 6:30 pmi bought this car after i flipped my Saturn. Right after we bought it (from a private seller mind you) the passenger seat stopped sliding forward/backwards (no big deal though), then the drivers side power window motor went out (no big deal), replaced brakes and December of 06 replaced all four tires.. now (04/08) replaced 3 wheel bearings, front brakes, rotor, and belt in the motor.. also, the exhaust was starting to fall off so got that welded back on.. I know it sounds like Im complaining, but Im actually satisfied that the car is 12 years old and hasnt had Major motor problems.. Im only the second owner of the car but I like to drive fast/hard so that could account for some wear/tear!

the best lemon - 1996 Pontiac Grand AM
By pmt - December 11 - 8:23 pmI bought the car in the beginnig of 2003 @ 101k. For the last year I had to repalce the starter, alternator, clutch, windshield and water pump (that killed me, over $500 for a simple water pump, problems with A/C. At 104k the transmission died and I junked the car. The worst reliability ever.

Too many problems - 1996 Pontiac Grand AM
By eugenemd - September 27 - 10:00 amNew transmission at 33,000 miles. New head gasket at 50,000 miles and new intake manifold gasket at 65,000 miles, among other less annoying and cheaper failures. Quality lacking in this machine. I wont buy a Pontiac again!
