Great Car - 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora
By Msch11 - November 2 - 2:00 amThis has been a great car to own. We have had it for 4 years (almost 50,000 miles) and the only thing that has been done to it is regular oil changes. Gas mileage has been very good, 19 to 20 miles per gallon in town. It is also fun to drive. The only negative I can think of is the radio volume control. It is either too loud or too soft. If GM were going to continue the oldsmobile line, I would defintely purchase another one.

Oustanding and fun - 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora
By cjdwolfe - August 10 - 10:00 amI only dirve my Aurora 7000 a year. Overall this Auto has been an outstanding and really fun car to drive. My on board computer has stated has high as 30.1 highway and 24 mpg in town. It averages 22 and 28mpg. The V8 has all the power you will ever need. I had a little wind noise around the drives door and right passenger rear door, replaced seals and adjusted door and its as quit as a mouse.

1999 Olds Aurora - 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora
By John - June 16 - 11:00 pmI bought this car when it was 4 years old with 9,000 miles. I have since driven it up to 75,000 with only one major problem ($900), and Im pretty sure it would have been a cheaper fix had I not been in a strange town. Overall the car has been superb. I have friends who have the newer style, but honestly they just dont compare. If I can ever find another deal (low mileage, old body style) again, Ill do it! The powerful V8, smooth handling, and sleek look make it a very enjoyable ride. As typical with American cars resale is horrible, which is why I would never buy one new (I paid $12,500...sticker was $37,000). I dont receommend many American cars, but this one is a winner!

Best Aurora - 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora
By anjinmike - January 23 - 9:26 pmI drive 25,000 miles/yr; get 26+mpg; have had one mechanical problem (drivers door handel broke); very quiet after I put Yokahoma tires on it; beat a teenager driving a new SS Camero off the line three days ago; after I got the governor removed west Texas speeds are very comfortable(a Mustang and I did 130-140 for almost an hour); 100k engine tune-up expensive but still runs like new; been using Mobil One and reset the computer when the oil life gets to 25%. Too bad the car was down sized for 2001, new ones just arent the same. I would have liked to try the car out in Germany I think it would hold its own running the Autobahns, slow lane only though.

My dream - 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora
By Mr Jack - November 12 - 2:00 amSince puchasing this car I find the fuel capacity is not big enough. Have had the trans ( touque converter ) replaced. Dont know what happened but they fixed it right and quick. The car is dreamy in style and in handling. More then enough power.

Aurora - Best Kept Secret - 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora
By neese39 - November 8 - 5:06 pmThis cars unique styling was what grabbed my interest initially - looks sharp, performance is amazing. Smoothest transmission Ive ever experienced, power to spare. Interior is well planned and comfortable but not a good car for the extra-tall due to sunroof. Excellent fit and finish, even though its now 6 years old. On a trip to Canada we got our all-time high of 27 MPG, fantastic for a heavy V-8 loaded with 4 people and luggage, averages 20 around town. Modifications: K&N air filter, drilled/slotted rotors. Best car Ive ever owned. Bought used from dealer, saved $20,000 from original MSRP.

99 Olds Aurora - 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora
By ricknpam - June 20 - 10:00 amOur Aurora is a great car. The 4.0- liter V-8 took me by surprise, 250- horse power; WOW! It leaves my 1986 442 in the dust. The ride is very smooth. I recently replaced the brakes at 72000 miles and it was simple. No special torx bit required, just a 15mm socket and a C-clamp to compress the caliper. A half an hour brake job. The check engine light came on once under warranty, it was a transmission code. They replaced a seal and we were on our way. The mechanic said they never see problems with this transmission. The 50K warranty was great. We average 23 miles to the gallon, not bad for a big car with a V-8.

Best Ive ever owned. - 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora
By ronp121 - November 10 - 6:27 amBought it when it was 2 years old with 47000 miles had to change Air compressor twice and replace radiator. Other than that just normal maintenance have a 157000 on it now and still starts and runs great. What really fascinating is that Ive never seen a exhaust system last over eleven years and still quiet.
