This Year's Model Updates:

This is likely the last year for the Quest before it is discontinued. As such, changes for 2002 are minimal. These include revised 16-inch alloy wheel designs for the GXE and SE, new exterior colors and revised option packages.

Pros:
  • Tidy exterior size, lots of bang for the buck, interior flexibility.
Cons:
  • Insufficient passing power, limited interior space.

Although this may not be the best Mini-Van ever made, it is a darn good one! It has a very quiet and solid ride. Very good ergonomics. The engine has enough power. The criticisms about not having enough passing power are stupid. This is a “Mini-Van" not a racecar. The worst thing about this vehicle is the rear bench seat folds up and slides forward, but you cannot take it out. The captain’s chairs in the middle do come out. This leaves a pretty screwy arrangement for the carpet.

This is my third Quest. They have all been great vehicles. It even pulls my 21 foot bay boat very well. The kids love the entertainment system (our second) and my wife and I can now carry on a conversation without the kids talking.

SETTING ASIDE THE NAME NISSAN QUEST...THIS VAN CAN MOVE AND PERFORMS VERY WELL IN ACCELARTING AND MANEUVERING HOWEVER IM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE SUSPENSION. THE VAN RATTLES TO MUCH AND BECOMES ANNOYING WHEN DRIVING. ON THE HIGHWAYS AND SMOOTH SURFACES I GIVE IT THUMBS UP ....BUT STAY AWAY FROM LOCAL STREETS WITH POT HOLES AND UNEVEN SURFACES.

I dont understand the knocks against its power. It has plenty of power and is very smooth in acceleration. This van feels much more solid than its competitors.

  • Looks Great, Rides Terrible - 2002 Nissan Quest

I loved the look and style of my Nissan Quest GLE. The wood grain dash and stylish leather seats made me feel like I driving a Lexus. That is until I ran over dirt in the road. The ride is horrible. You feel every bump! I found myself scouring the road for divets and ruts just to avoid them. Otherwise, it was a great vehicle. My kids loved the extras like the overhead video system. And, my husband and I loved the dual function of the sound system. It allowed us to listen to the radio (or not!) while our kids watched a movie with head phones.

AFTER DECIDING TO ADD A VAN TO OUR STABLE OF FAMILY VEHICLES, A MERCEDES SUV AND A VOLVO SEDAN, I BEGAN TO SHOP AROUND, COMPARE FEATURES AND DIG UP THESE REVIEWS. BASED ON THE ACTUAL TEST DRIVE AND REVIEWING THE LIST OF FEATURES, I DECIDED THAT THE QUEST VAN WAS BEST SUITED FOR ME. IT HAS THE MOST CONVENIENT LAY OUT OF INTERIOR, VERY COMFORTABLE SEATING WITH THE QUAD CAPTAIN CHAIRS, EXCELLENT FINISH BOTH INSIDE AND OUT, ADEQUATE PERFORMANCE AND WAS DEFINITELY THE MOST FUN TO DRIVE.

We love our Nissan Quest, we have driven the Windstar, Caravan, MPV, Montana, Cienna, and Odyssey and found that with all the features we wanted and for reliability, nothing compared to the price/performance of the Quest. We can take my parents, us and our three children and everyone is plenty comfortable. We love the rear deck shelf with net for carrying groceries. Our kids love the family entertainment system. Engine performance is good. Check the features you get with this vehicle for the price, Im sure you wont be disappointed!
