Great Economical, Reliable Transportation - 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage
By Fernando - November 22 - 2:16 amGreat car if you want great gas mileage. Also fairly reliable. I bought mine used with two years ago. It had 240k miles in it and now 280k. No major repair bills, just regular maintenance. A reliable car with an awesome gas mileage. I dont know if its on its second or third transmission based on the milage it has, but so far so good. I love this econocar!

Mirage is a winner! - 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage
By Texas Gary - March 17 - 10:00 amWeve had this vehicle for about four years now, nearly 65,000 miles, without any problems whatsoever. Only work needed so far has been for routine maintenance. Good fuel economy at ~30mpg average city/hwy mix. Our mechanic even loves it, says its very easy to work on.

Very Pleased - 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage
By MtnTyme - August 24 - 10:00 amThe first 3 yrs, I put over 36k per yr on this car, most of that in the Appalachian Mtns. The Yokahoma tires that came with it lasted about 90k miles, and the seat covers still look great. I average about 40 mpg overall. It survived a deer collisionw/only front end body damage. It handles very well in snow on paved roads, but does not have the power to handle deep snow or icy grades on rutted dirt roads. It now has a bit of tapping when it starts, and the suspension is losing out to the rough dirt road where we live now. Ill have to give it up soon for something w/more clearance & traction, but it will be sorely missed.

Long-time owner - 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage
By Vince - May 10 - 11:43 amI purchased my Mirage LS new in May of 1998 and have enjoyed owning it ever since. My only regret is that Mitsubishi no longer manufactures the Mirage. I now have 120,000 miles on it and other than routine maintenance it has not cost me a dime. The highway mileage has never been less than 32 miles per gallon. It has been a great little car.

Mirage Heaven - 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage
By Scott Hill - February 25 - 2:00 amI bought this car after driving a Ford Truck with a 302 engine in it for years. I wanted something easy on the wallet, with air conditioning, just to get me where I needed to go every day. So I traded the truck in on this new 98 Mirage. I got the base model 2 door 5-speed manual. All I had to do was get the windows tinted and put in a cd player. In the five years and 4 months I have owned this car the only time it has been in the shop - besides scheduled oil changes - was for a new starter covered under warranty during year 2. Of course, I miss the power, riding with 95 horsepower or so, but the reliability makes up for that.

Great little Zipper - 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage
By itisi - January 12 - 2:00 amGreat Little economy car. Had it for over 3 years, never any problems. Hit a deer once and we survived, and its still going strong. Its zips nicely along, lacking a bit in power (especially with the air on) but what can you expect for this price. Had the opportunity to drive same car in automatic on vacation in Puerto Rico (where this car seems to be the favorite all around) and stay clear from this one if youd like to have some accelleration. Cheers, and happy motoring. (now where can I write a review for a 1975 merc. 240D?

Great Car! At an auction?? Cant be... - 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage
By Rita - August 31 - 7:23 pmI purchased this great little car at an auction a couple of months ago for about $1000. Couldnt believe the next day I cleaned it up and drove it! Ran great! Everything on it working and in tip top shape. Only had $129,000 miles on it. The gas mileage is great and the body looks really good. I ordered a spoiler and some euro lights for it and Im going to put rims and tint the windows!! Very satisfied with this car.

Wifes little zoom-zoom - 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage
By dnkfisher - January 11 - 2:00 amI bought this little car for my Minister wife. She drove 120 miles each time on her church circuit, for 3 years. NEVER did she have a problem, even on icy roads, or rainy weather. Only thing replaced was the battery after 3 years. It is also "zippy" enough to get my license suspended for 6 months. Great starter or for a second car.
