Exceeded Expectations - 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage
By Joe101286 - July 13 - 2:00 amI just bought a 1998 Mirage DE Sedan after I lost my first car in a wreck. What a great purchase it turned out to be! Wonderful appearance for an economy sedan. Its very refined and clean looking. Interior design is very eye pleasing and fit and finish is great. The performance is what surprises me about this car, its very peppy for a 92 hp engine!

Very Reliable - 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage
By Lfloyd - July 10 - 6:10 pmThe gas mileage is great. This makes it cheap to operate and it has never left me standing on the side of the road (knock on wood). I have done little more than upkeep type repairs. Changed the timing belt, engine seals, and routine oil changes.

A Little Work - 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage
By natrenslandss - April 2 - 4:50 pmI would say after installing the a turbo oversized exhaust and a cold air intake it was fast light weight, mine has 160 hp now but still working on it. Great car all over I have love it.

1998 Mirage DE - 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage
By Gabriel - October 31 - 2:33 pmThe Mirage is extremely reliable car. I have over 97,000 miles on my car and have not had a single major mechanical problem, except for the poor quality brakes that came from the factory. Ive kept up with the scheduled maintenance of the car and engine, transmission, a/c still run perfectly. My only complaint was the very cheap radio that came with the car. (It stopped working when the car was only a year old).

Mirage? - 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage
By Mark H - May 1 - 2:00 amIll make this quick. The car for me was reliable until the engine blew out 2 years after i bought it. Completely fried the engine. Before that it was reliable. Slow as can be but good gas milage. The exterior isnt bad for an entry level car but the interior needs some work.

robs ride - 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage
By tgtgtgtg - April 12 - 2:00 amThe purpose of this vehicle was to buy something economically efficient for the purpose of driving back and forth to work from Ohio to Indiana. It really has been a great little car!

Lean, mean and green! - 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage
By gulati - October 5 - 4:33 pmOur Mirage LS was exceptionally reliable. Like our previous Colt, not much more than routine maintenance, with tires and brakes lasting 60K. After 120K the car did loose some zip, maybe form diminished compression. And while fuel economy also declined, we could still obtain 35 mpg plus on the long trips.
