Is it worth the money? - 2000 Mercedes-Benz S-Class
By Dave G - January 8 - 10:00 amIs it worth spending 75000 for this car other than for your ego? 1) On long drive I discovered despite the seats being leather seats are not as soft and comfortable as in many american cars. I feel I have to take a break after 1-2 hours. 2) CD based GPS is great locally but on long drive you need a regular map to figure out the route e.g. NJ is split in two CDs. 3) Cup holder is at a inconvenient location

I love my Benz - 2000 Mercedes-Benz S-Class
By jtmgrmom - May 3 - 10:00 amHaving owned a couple of Benzs before, this one was still a treat. My 98 wasnt so fun, but 2000 was an improvement. A drivers car, the handling is supurb as long as you keep good tires on it. And they wear out quickly. Otherwise, a great car.

Luxury Family Sedan - 2000 Mercedes-Benz S-Class
By Jaeger - October 15 - 10:00 amThis car replaces my Jag XJR, which offered a back seat so small that my 5 year old complained about leg room. I no longer have to take the wifes minivan when going on a weekend family outing.

Sexy POS - 2000 Mercedes-Benz S-Class
By esntrk1 - July 30 - 10:00 amIf you dont want drama, do not buy this car!! It car is a maintenance nightmare. Do not buy it used without an exteneded warranty!! You are asking for financial ruin!! This car cost me nearly 10k in maintenace this year alone!! Read the many horror stories at www.mbworld.com. Then if you still must have the car, lease or buy it new and get rid of it before the warranty expires. People ask me all the time about my S500 and I tell them to buy the Lexus LS430. It will actually increase your quality of life by reducing your stress level and maintaining your net worth.

Great car; expensive to maintain - 2000 Mercedes-Benz S-Class
By Stephen - May 16 - 3:50 pmOverall, this is a very beautiful car that is fun to drive. However, the maintenance, even routine, is very expensive at the MZB dealers. The car is fun to drive with a smooth, solid ride, and makes long trps enjoyable. Even police officers have commented on what a beautiful car it is. I have had to pat to replace the left headlamp assembly, and the locking gas cap several times. The entire drivers seat assembly, had to be flown in from Germany and replaced, but fortunately I had purchased an extended warranty. The entire steering assembly also went out. Being so heavy, the car needs frequent brake repairs, and goes through tires quite quickly. Nevertheless, I just love this car!

What has happened to Mercedes Benz? - 2000 Mercedes-Benz S-Class
By Disappointed-One - September 14 - 2:00 amWe purchased this vehicle in 2003 with 19,000 miles with the intention of keeping it for 10 years. It was in the Mercedes certified used car program. In the 8 months we owned the vehicle, it was in the shop 5 times for a wide variety of reasons, including a failed instrument cluster, windshield washer tank failure, numerous electrical issues and repeated "Check Engine" alerts. I cannot express how disappointed we have been with this Mercedes-Benz. This was the worst vehicle I have ever owned. Buyers beware -- this is not your fathers Mercedes; its a disgustingly expensive vehicle that does not live up to the Mercedes brand and reputation.

Mercedes - 2000 Mercedes-Benz S-Class
By persian man - March 22 - 10:00 amThis vehicle is one of a kind. I have never experienced such a maginificent car. I have owned BMWs and Jaguars, but Mercedes is in a league of its own. Mercedes is by far makes the best sedan under 150000 dollars.
