Overview & Reviews
Extensive changes for the Tribute this year include a new base engine, restyled exterior and a new electronic four-wheel-drive system. A floor-mounted shifter replaces the awkward column shifter, and ABS is now standard on all models.
- Roomy and comfortable interior, peppy V6 engine, drives more like a car than a truck, long list of standard features.
- Mediocre fuel economy and driving range on V6 models.

New Tribute - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By Craig - October 13 - 7:53 pmI just purchased a new Tribute and couldnt be happier. I had been looking into them for a while and was glad to finally get one. I think they are the best small SUV on the market. I would recommend that everyone try fightingchance.com to get the best price, I got mine $526 BELOW invoice cost. Deals are out there, you just have to look.

2005 Tribute - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By TLE - July 28 - 4:50 pmExterior of car is nice. Seals on all doors are inadequate, water enters the door wells when washed or it rains. Passenger door lock mechanism was incorrectly installed. Dashboard accessories are cheap looking. So far the car is running well. Only have 2300 miles. First time owner of a Mazda.

My Trib - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By dblduce - May 13 - 9:30 pmJust purchased a demo with 8700 miles. This car is like new, Ive researched many other small utes but this one tops them all. I was lucky to get an almost fully loaded unit, sunroof, 6 disc changer and subwoofer. It doesnt have the side or curtain airbags but I do like that it has ABS and 4 wheel discs. I live in the Sunbelt so no need for 4WD. This is an excellent vehicle and its carlike ride doesnt give you the feel of an SUV.

2005 Tribute-S overview - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By Mark B. - April 12 - 5:03 amMy wife & I set out to purchase an SUV to transport kids, have the capability to tow at least up to 3,500 lbs, small enough to drive around in city traffic and be as inexpensive a purchase as possible. I looked at the Honda CRV & Pilot but neither met our entire criteria. After 2 months of ownership the Tribute-S is very satisfying in terms of driveability, reliability and looks. We find the Tribute quiet, nimble handling, fits/adjusts to my 50 wife & seats her high to see out over the traffic. The V-6 power/take-off is great! Of all the options to choose from, we opted for the extra security of the "side curtain air bags" and did lower our car insurance a bit.

Best of the Best - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By floridaspincast - February 10 - 7:33 amAfter driving and test driving SUVs for three months, we selected the Tribute to be the best overall. Price, style, comfort, fuel economy and ride. The Infinity FX35 and the GMC Envoy were close seconds. The leather package is very nice, the interior setup is very good. We took it on a 500 mile trip and it handled great! Fuel was great.

ZOOM ...ZOOM - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By Jame - January 12 - 7:30 amThis Mini SUV has been a real pleasure to own! Before this vehicle, I had a 97 Ford Thunderbird, that I didnt really want to give up. But we needed something more suitable on gas, growing boys and a dog. We drove the Tribute from Florida, up to Mass, and the gas mileage was excellent. It handles great in the different climates, from rain to snow covered roads. I have two very energetic sons, and this SUV has been a huge plus in our active lives. For not purchasing a Lexus, or Mercedes SUV, I couldnt be happier so far!

I love my Tribute!! - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By CB - November 11 - 12:13 pmI have had my Tribute for almost a year now and I am still crazy about it! My 2004 Tribute is an amazing vehicle, fun to drive, wonderful interior room and looks awesome! I have had one issue with a recall (back hatch latch) but it was taken care of quickly and have had no problems since. I highly recommend the Tribute, there is no greater small SUV out there!
